“The Auerbach Dynasty” opens this Friday!

I'm very excited for this coming Friday. Ken Dooley's play, "The Auerbach Dynasty", based on his friendship with Arnold "Red" Auerbach opens at the Park Theater in Cranston, R.I. John and I have been invited to be Ken's guests for the evevning, and it's truly an honor.

You can listen to an interview Ken did with me which goes into a little bit of how he and Red met and also some of Red's early years before he became coach of the Boston Celtics in 1950. If you are a Celtics history buff, it's a must-listen, and this play is something you just have to come enjoy.

Ken has been kind enough to offer our readers a 25% discount on tickets to the show. Use the code "bcseason" when buying your tickets on the theater's website, which you can find here. Hope to see some of you at the show!!!

  • While I do know that such thing as Google Maps exist, could someone living in Boston longer than I have tell me if there’s a reasonable way to get to this theater via public transportation? Google Map all you want, but there’s nothing like a good tip from a local.

  • Hey man-you can take the Providence/Stoughton line on the commuter rail from South Station in Boston. One-way is about $8. Then, Cranston is about 3 miles from Providence, so you can take a cab for about $10-$15. Or, you can take the #22 bus from Providence to Cranston also.
