This should have been a 25 point blowout. But the Celtics just love to do things the hard way. The result – a 107-103 victory over the Warriors.

Ray Allen had 20 of his 27 points in the 1st half. Paul Pierce had 20 of his 27 points in the 2nd half.

The biggest bucket was Pierce's jumper-and-1 that stretched Boston's lead to 103-99 with 2:47 remaining. The biggest rebound was Ray's offensive board with 14 seconds left and the Cs clinging to a 2 point lead.

Jeff Green had 21 points which included a couple of athletic buckets at the rim.

We saw the best of Monta Ellis tonight: 41 points, 13-24 FG, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Celtics lead peaked at 79-61 midway through the 3rd quarter. But rather than roll over and die, the Warriors made a push and trailed by just 7 heading into the 4th. The Celtics defense gave up way too many points at the rim (46 points in the paint).

The Celtics defense did clamp down late in the 4th, holdling GS to 4 points over the final 3 minutes.

Von Wafer strained his right calf in the 1st half and did not return. Scott Souza spotted him wearing a walking boot in the locker room.

  • Green’s first of many great games as a Celtic. Like Ray said consistency in defense will come in time.
What did you guys think of him playing the PF with the big four? Once they get use to each other I think this will be a formidable unit for Doc.

  • I really liked that unit, I’m sure we’re gunna see a lot of it for the next fewgames without baby, I’m excited to see it again.
