Report: C’s could get Parker for Quis

RedsArmyAdmin February 24, 2011 Uncategorized 14 Comments

Considering the news this morning that Quis might need surgery and be done, using his contract as a chip makes total sense.  He is either going to get traded or bought out.  A trade for Parker works straight-up, and the C's could toss some cash Cleveland's way to help ease the buyout burden.

Let's see what happens.

I feel bad for Quis, but this is good news for the team. Lets see if it happens.

Don’t feel bad for an oft-injured millionaire who frankly isn’t that good (remember when Daniels said he shot 1000 3’s a day in the offseason to expand his game, then never took 3’s in a game?).
    This deal would be perfect.

I think its alright to feel bad for a guy who misses out on a championship because of a freak injury, especially when that guy was one of our key bench players and was having a terrific season. I don’t care how much he makes. Its a possible career ending injury, and he was on our team.
    Heartless ass.

The Cav’s brass want to help the C’s win the East? Why would that be?
I certainly wish ‘Quis well, he had a few bad injuries and that’s not how to end a season, especially not a career. I like(d?) having him on the team and he was having a positive season off the bench.

You’re right. Don’t feel bad for a guy who by all reports is a good dude who has a neck issue that could have paralyzed him.
    Don’t be an ass.

    But it didn’t. He’s fine.
    Glad you’re not Boston’s GM.

I like this trade. Although on Sherrod tweeted that Marquis has his early Bird rights and could veto any trade.

I don’t pay what I pay per year for season tickets to feel better about letting an injured guy take up a roster spot and keep us from winning a Championship. It’s not like he won’t get the same money. buyout or not, his contract is guaranteed. He wasn’t signed beyond this year anyway.
I like the guy, and he was having a better year this year, but competitive pro sports isn’t about making everyone feel good about doing something nice for a guy who can no longer help the team. Stop acting like he’s getting fired, or losing pay out of this.
    Marquis will be fine.

He would reportedly be bought out and sent back to the Cs.
offer on table: [Anthony Parker] to Celts for Marquis Daniels. #Cavs would buy him out, send him back to Bos. But Cavs want Bos #1 next yr for helping

He can only come back after the Cavs buy him out if the C’s free up another roster spot via a trade or buyout.
Unless the C’s have another trade partner(various NBA Twitters seem to disagree, and it’s nearly 1pm), or plan to buyout Bradly/Gody, this is unlikely.

If I was a GM, I would do the move but I would at least CARE about the person. I get that you are trying to act your name, being classless and all, but don’t overdo it or else you won’t make too many friends around here.

Cavs don’t want to help the Cs win the East, they are rebuilding. They picked up Davis from the clippers, and if they buy out Quis, they will have more room for improvement this offseason. I think the Cavs want to shed all the reminants of the Lebron era, and start over. Hopefully its to our benifit.

Again….he is fine. He’s not paralyzed. I cared when he got hurt, but once it was reported he was ok, my thought process changed. Great GM’s don’t get emotionally attached. If you want to keep him on the roster because you feel bad, fine. You’re perogative.
I just better not see anyone complaining about Von Wafer in June because that’s the guy right now.
