TNT Crew Interviews Rajon Rondo about his All-Star Selection

Jay February 3, 2011 Uncategorized 10 Comments

During the pre-game show on TNT tonight, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Chris Webber revealed the all-star reserves for each team.  Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo all made the team via coaches votes and Rondo was interviewed by the crew to discuss his second selection.  Rondo discussed what it was like playing with 4 hall of famers, his thoughts on being an all-star again and if he really challenged Usain Bolt to a race.  Rondo said he didn't, with a laugh and a smile.  In fact, just as I pointed out on Twitter, the TNT crew got Rondo to laugh and smile more in 4 minutes than he has in 4 years during the usual local interviews.

One more tidbit when asked if it surprises him that he's the best player on the Celtics now, considering he was looked at as the weakest link a few years ago.  His response: "It doesn't really surprise me."  He did point out that everyone has a role and plays it well.  Check the clip below for the full interview:

But was it really to be more Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson, Aleen Ray, Chris Bosh, Al Horford or Rajon Rondo?

  • KY Celts fan

    I actually don’t hear it.

  • Nick

how the fuck does Bosh and Horford make it?? I disagree with that 100%. I’de say Stephen Jackson and Danny Granger deserve it over those 2 guys. Even Luol Deng is more deserving than either of them. All-Star reserves is almost as bad as starters when it comes to picking who goes. As long as are 4 celts are there though.

  • Nick

what the fuck am i saying?? how did Ray Allen make the team ahead of Raymond Felton??

  • BRADinLA

Seriously? You don’t hear the accent?

  • paul

Time to start calling them the Big Four, not the Big Three.

  • paul

    lol!

It ocurrs to me, KY Celts fan, that you may think I was making fun of Rondo’s accent. Not at all. Though I’m from Boston, I live in Southern Indiana and I love the accent.
