Recap: Cs close out road trip with win over Kings

The Celtics 4th quarter defense carried them to a victory over the scrappy Sacramento Kings.

It wasn't the prettiest victory, but style points are not necessary in the final game of a West coast road trip.

Big props to Nate Robinson (4 points, 4 rebounds, 5 steals) for his hustle and defense in the final quarter. He came up with several loose balls that led to Celtics baskets. The Celtics held the Kings to 36 points in the 2nd half.

Ray Allen led the offense with 22 points (4-7 3 FG). He's nine three-pointers away from the all-time record. Rondo also played with a lot of energy – 17 points, 10 assists.

Kevin Garnett (12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks) always brings the intensity, but tonight he brought a double dose. He was battling with DeMarcus Cousins and Samuel Dalembert all night, hitting the floor routinely and playing like this was a Game 7.

Cousins (20 points, 6 rebounds) is a punk. A talented punk who I'd love to have play for the Celtics.

Nate struggled with his shooting again, but his 4 steals and hustle were key in this one. When DWest gets back, Nate could be riding the pine alot unless he really picks it up. I was frustrated with how our turnovers were leading to fastbreak points early, but C’s locked-it down in 2nd half. Perk looks to be still getting his wind/legs, but getting better each game. Great win to close out trip.

This was a fun win and Nate did redeem himself cause for a bit there he “shot the Kings back into it”….I had the game blacked out here and had to watch it on broadband with the Sac-town announcers. Walton did half the game and was his usual epic self.
Shaq needs a week or two off, I thought he gave up a couple dunks he normally would have had. Celts are stuck in Sacto tonite due to the big storm.

Ray looks like ET up there…lol Ray Alien

  • TJames

What’s with Ray’s face in this picture? What happend to cause this… Didn’t get to see the game.

To Big Dan and Nick. Your fan site sucks just like the Celtic fans. Go troll somewhere else or i’ll be back. Dumb asses!

  • CelticsSuck4Ever

He got goosed by Garnett. Duh!

  • Nora

You are a stupid troll. You are trolling because someone is trolling you. Lakers fans need to grow the f up! Celtics are doing everything but sucking. LOL

  • Nora

You think that ius some sort of threat? You Laker trolls need no excuse to come here and troll it seems.

  • CelticsSuck4Ever

Payback is a bitch. You fools been trolling on Laker sites so wtf. Cant take the heat, make a sandwich lil lady!

  • BRADinLA

Make a sandwich little lady? WTF, lol, idiot.

  • Nora

Wow you are threatening Reds Army filled with lowlife Laker trolls with more trolling. What will we ever do? LOL

  • Andrew

So do you cry like Gasol the other day whenever Celtic fans troll on your site?

  • Andrew

I can’t believe the Fakers lost to these scrubs in Sac, and Cousins having a field day too.

  • Nick

Great effort and ya the words you typed on Cousins couldn’t be more true. The guy is a punk, but he’s very talented. This is what its all about grinding out tough victories and smacking people around. i LOVED TO SEE RONDO get in cousins face after he got shitty with K.G, This is a true team, one of the best I’ve ever seen assembled. My only complaint, and I don’t know if its just me is wtf is up with Queezy Daniels? What is his issue? I’de like to see more Von Wafer going forward, this guy is so exsplosive and can flat out score. More Von less Queezy, though I suppose Delonte’s return could help aleviate some of those issues. More Wafer though, and not much else I can complain about. Great road trip especially punking those frail homo Lakers the other day.

    Celtics>Sac>Lakers

  • AngieV

you mean 17 pts 10 assists for rondo?

  • DRJ

The look on RA’s face is because the (idiot) ref just called a foul on him, even though he clearly got all ball in the defensive play that just ended. His thumbs are up because he just KNEW the whistle was for a jump ball. He can’t believe what the ref is doing. Neither could anyone who saw the replay. But… pretty typical. They pretty much call it randomly when they don’t see the play.

  • BigMck

    Oops. My bad..

  • paul

Funny too how the Kings are walking away fast like they just got away with one and they know it…

This was in some ways a more important game than the Lakers game. The Lakers game was a definitive statement about last year. It was us saying to them ‘you KNOW that the wrong team won last year’. Now the next two to three weeks are for this year. Now we make a statement about where the Championship belongs this year, and just as important as the Big Games against contenders (Heat, Lakers again, etc.), are the games against lesser teams. There is no better way to show that we are going to take this championship than taking care of business against lesser teams, even in situations perfectly set up to give us an L. We had every excuse relating to timing and circumstances to lose last night (we just won a climactic game, Kings are on a roll and its in their home, we are thinking ahead to being home and playing other big games, etc.), and before the Lakers game, I think we would have lost that one. But we didn’t. And we need to keep going like that. No excuses, take care of business against weaker teams. As a result of taking care of business, we picked up a game vs the Spurs. That’s big. Game by game, let’s show the rest of the league that this is not their year…

LMAO!!!!! The only “fake” thing is Celtic pride. Put on your kilts, have a brew and kiss the blarney stone for luck.

  • CelticsSuck4Ever

At least you found the humor. Now where is my sandwich?

  • KGHaTTR

Keep hanging around knob end – I’m sure you’re making money while u do….

  • ShawnCVD

Nick Quisy is alright. He’s a more than serviceable back up. The only thing holding him back is that ridiculous hair. Time for it to go Q!
Von has definitely been playing better though and deserves 14 minutes a game if only to protect Allen.
