Red's Army

I can’t believe JRich fell for the oldest trick in the book

So there the Celtics were… game tied, less than a minute left.. the ball in Paul Pierce's hands… and one defender in his way.

Hmmmm…. I wonder what's gonna happen in that situation

The sun is more likely not to rise than Paul Pierce not pulling that move in that situation.  Yet Jason Richardson… like a million players before him… fell for it.

Everyone keeps falling for it.

Boom.  Game over.

Loved the shot, but what a Defensive effort by KG on the next play to really seal the game up.

“That’s What She” is one of the funniest usernames I’ve seen in a while. Well done

might just be the video… but was the whistle blown a bit early there? before any contact even before the upfake

lucky the ref didn’t call PP for traveling. his feet shuffled before the foul and shot

I love Paul, but I hate this call. That absolutely should not be called a defensive foul. Once J Rich was in the air, Paul leans into his path. Paul took away any chance of of the defensive player landing AFTER the defensive player left his feet.
You know how some of you hate those Rondo assists (padding)? This is what does it for me.

Traveling is the oldest trick in the book.

unless they change the rules, that’s how it’s going to be. that’s the whole concept behind the upfake and draw a foul when the defender is landing. it’s like moving your arms up into the defender’s hands to draw a foul. “veteran” moves.
the rules pretty much imply the defender should have full control over where he jumps and lands, and if not, the offense can take advantage of it. much like how offense should have full control over how they approach the basket, otherwise defenders can draw a charge.
