KG and Jermaine to sit vs Kings

Via Scott Souza:

No Kevin Garnett tonight and probably not Friday; Jermaine O'Neal also out tonight with sore knee.

Doc Rivers' preemptive strike on Kevin Garnett injury talk: "There is no conspiracy here. He's just taking a little longer than we wanted."

So it looks like KG will return Monday vs Orlando.

Kings guard Tyreke Evans is also out for tonight.

With or without Tyreke Evans, if the Celtics lose against the Kings, I will facepalm my eyes out of my head.

Also, Jermaine O’Neal is really out of it… This is definitely his last year… let’s hope it’s a year to remember. ;)

As much as I hate to see another older guy on the Celtics having injury issues, I gotta say that I’m pretty excited to see Erden getting minutes again. He was far from flawless when filling in for J.O. when he was injured earlier this season and made some textbook rookie mistakes, but the guy brings energy to the paint, and with KG sitting out another game that’s exactly what the Celtics need. What I love about Erden is his intensity, and ability to make his presence truly felt in the paint. He won’t be able to use his size and strength to back down Sacramento’s younger big men like Jermaine and Shaq can, but he will not let shots go uncontested, and hopefully his energy will help spark something positive in this Celtics’ team that has looked just flat out lazy in their last couple losses.
