Donald Sterling did what now?

RedsArmyAdmin January 7, 2011 Uncategorized 4 Comments

Donald sterling The list of Donald Sterling's transgressions is long and varied.  And today we're hearing of an allegation that… if true… just tops them all.  It comes from TrueHoop (via Ball Don't Lie) and is from Elgin Baylor's lawsuit against Sterling:

"While ignoring my suggestions and isolating me from decisions customarily reserved for general managers, the Clippers attempted to place the blame for the team's failures on me," Baylor said in the declaration. "During this same period, players Sam CassellElton Brand and Corey Maggette complained to me that DONALD STERLING would bring women into the locker room after games, while the players were showering, and make comments such as, 'Look at those beautiful black bodies.' I brought this to Sterling's attention, but he continued to bring women into the locker room."

These are, indeed, simply allegations at this point.  I suppose someone needs to track down Cassell, Brand and Maggette to see if this is true.

If it is… then whoa.  Nothing like a rich white owner showing off his prize pieces of meat.  Remind me again what century this is?

For those unaware of his reputation, for old Donald, its the 1800’s. The MID 1800’s.

With Cassell in there I’d’ve thought they’d run screaming from the room!!
Seriously – I hope this is true and the NBA finally gets rid of this racist dinosaur. Lordy knows Blake Griffin and the Clips, and their fans deserve better….

I believe the players have had/are having the last laugh. They’re taking this guy’s money and laughing all the way to the bank… with apparently no intention of ever getting a Sterling-owned team anywhere near a championship.

Worst owner in sports. Imagine if Cuban, Wyc, or someone smart owned that team. LA would be a basketball mecca.
