Walker off the window

All this Antoine Walker talk has some of us Celtics fans nostalgic. What better way to reminisce on 'Toine's time in green than this classic moment from 2002. Watch Bob Delaney cover his head in fear of being pelted by beer/objects as he scampers out of Staples Center.

  • HA! If you had told me then that Shaq would be a Celtic 8 years later..

  • Lee in Oregon

‘Toine was a different kind of power forward, but one thing you can’t deny, he played hard most of the time. That was a crazy ass shot though.
The chances of Ainge taking him back are insanely slim, but I hope he makes it back to the league.

  • I believe the refs took into account the fact that the clock was started at least 2 tenths of a second late.

What’s the deal with every Celtic wearing a headband?

  • worstkid

i think they were all wearing the headbands as a sign off unity on a long west coast trip, if i remember correctly

  • Yessir. Pierce and Walker suggested the team all wear headbands as a sign of unity & to help develop team chemistry. Other teams sometimes would all shave their heads bald. Ahh…those were the days. If a team did that nowadays, Stern would prob suspend them all and say it was “gang-related activity”.

Not surprisingly, I don’t remember any of those shots by Kobe. Ha! I do remember bursting off my couch though when Antoine hit that shot. Phewy!

I miss ‘Toine. Sure he drove you crazy with his shot selection, but man does he love to play. I remember a game here in Detroit. The Celtics were trailing all game, until Antoine hit the game winner as time expired. Good stuff.

Love that shimmy! It would make an amazing story for him to come back, especially to the Cs, and reclaim some of that glory, especially if they win the championship.

  • When I lived in NY I used to go to MSG and the Meadowlands every time the Celtics came to town. There was one game that Walker hit the game winning shot from about 5 feet behind the three point line. Everyone at that time would give him a lot of criticism, however, he was one of my favorite players because I knew he wanted the ball when it counted. He was fearless. He got his ring and I am happy for him. I hope he learns his lesson.

LOL @ Kobe screaming at the officials. Always will be a punk, right or wrong.
