Rondo dunks team usa

Our friend Jeff Garcia from Project Spurs is in New York covering Team USA, and he passes along word that Rajon Rondo missed practice today because of a death in his family.

Sherrod Blakely tweets that Rondo's uncle passed away, and he'll return to the team tonight.

The photo comes from a Chris Forsberg piece which includes Doc Rivers encouraging Rajon to play for Team USA, even though he played a lot of games last season.  Check it out.. good stuff.

Our thoughts are with Rondo and his family.

Rivers is a smart coach. Encouraging Rondo to play for the USA team is going to help Rondo take it to another level next year. It will boost his confidence even more than before which will be good for the C’s.
Rondo is one of those guys with tons of talent that knows it but won’t show it off all the way til he feels confident with himself and those he is playing with whetther they are on his team or just in the league.
Once he has the the FULL green light and doesn’t have to slow down at the occasional yellow ones he is will be the best point gaurd in the league for sure.
When the Vets deffer more to him is what I’m saying. They do it know but not all the time.
