C’s lose… but this is going to be all about the refs

RedsArmyAdmin May 26, 2010 Uncategorized 139 Comments

Doc and rush

It's entirely possible the Celtics weren't going to win this anyway…

It's entirely possible the Magic, who came out strong, drained a lot of big 3's, and suddenly looked a lot more like the Magic team that stomped through the first 2 rounds, would have held on no matter what.

But this is one of the games where you CAN look at the referees as making a huge difference in the game.

Kendrick Perkins was helping Paul Pierce up off the floor when his hand slipped and went into Marcin Gortat… who just happened to be behind him.  Gortat slapped the ball away and the refs called a double tech.

Then, minutes later, Perk had an emotional reaction to a bad foul call (which every guy on the broadcast said was a bad call) and Eddie F. Rush (whoa… has anyone checked on Tommy Heinsohn?) T'd him up, which led to the ejection.

That changed the complexion of this game.

Of course we'll never know how the game would have gone if Perkins wasn't tossed.  We don't know if he would have fouled out.. or if he would have played great defense.

I do know this: Glen Davis wouldn't have taken a Dwight Howard elbow to the face (inadvertent) and left the game with a concussion.  Marquis Daniels wouldn't have slammed into Marcin Gortat and left with a concussion.

The NBA SHOULD rescind at least one of Perk's techs.  I think they should take both away (as do Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy).  Yet the possibility exists that the league will let both stand, which would be his 7th tech of the playoffs, and a 1 game suspension.  And if that happens, the C's may have to go without Perk… or Glen Davis… or even Rasheed Wallace who limped off the floor at the end.

Hey, you know what?  Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett shot a combined 11 of 33 for the game.  The Celtics, until the last 5 minutes of the game, were hanging around.  If those guys had played well, we might have been talking about how the Celtics actually could have overcome this.  They did have a chance to win this game.

But instead, this is a worst-case scenario for the NBA.

Their referees are now the center of a high-profile discussion for their poor performance.  A pair of terrible technical fouls led to a chain reaction where the Celtics roster might have suffered at least one, and maybe more crippling injuries.

The league now has to either come out and rescind one or two techs that would have allowed a crucial player to remain in the game rather than be ejected… or allow them to stand, and let the topic of discussion for the entire Game 6 be how the league let questionable techs stand, leading to a suspension, and the loss of key Celtics reserves.  It's a no-win situation.

David Stern has to pop that shit-eating grin on his face, sit there tomorrow, and once again proclaim that his referees are great… that nothing is wrong… and that they're not spotlight-hogging dicks who will step outside the bounds of their job descriptions, which is simply to make sure the rules of the game are followed.

We haven't even discussed Joey Crawford's demeanor on the Rajon Rondo technical foul.  We'll save that for tomorrow.

The basketball played during the 113-92 Magic win will not be the main focus when you wake up tomorrow, pour your coffee, and flip on sports talk radio.  All you'll hear about is technical fouls, and the names Joey Crawford and Eddie F. Rush.

For Orlando fans, that's a shame… for Celtics fans, that's a gas truck overturning onto open flames.  For David Stern, it should make for a run to the medicine cabinet for some Pepto.

I'll end by trying to nip a couple of misconceptions in the bud.

- the Final score was huge, but the Celtics were always within striking distance.  Don't let people tell you this was a blowout from jump.  The C's had chances.

- This isn't the Bruins.  Yes, the B's lost in OT in game 4 and they lost big in Game 5.  Coincidences, yes… but it means nothing at all.

It's your turn.  Tee off.

the game doesn’t count it is 100% cheating I am going to break it down to you.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f5ebb21970c JD

    Refs suck blah bah blah….
Look it, I’ve already accepted that the referees blow and their performance tonight was unacceptable. But thats pretty much out of Boston’s hands. They have to figure out the answers to these questions:
How the fuck do we deal with the Jameer Nelson pick and roll? Our big men are all too slow to slow him down and Rondo is having a hard time getting through multiple screens. I say fuck it, lets go zone like the Suns and see what happens…. not really, but we need to figure something out to slow down that play.
What the hell happened to the offense? The ball movement sucks, we aren’t hitting shots and there is NO transition game, none at all. It almost feels like the regular season again.
God damn this is frustrating. And the refs just make my headache twice as worse.

  • SydneyCeltic

There’s no way I’m giving up on this team, NO WAY. I still firmly believe we can win this. But this game? Oh man, this game has made me so angry, so upset. Someone from the NBA needs to explain to me how two of our players get concussed and no foul is called. That shit is just plain WRONG.

  • The Truth is Here

This just supports my suspicions that the NBA realizes what kind of playoffs they are having and want to push this series to make it more competitive.
Hey Shelden. I hope you are ready to play big minutes and guard the best big man in the game right now.

Somebody after game 4 compared David Stern to Vince McMahon and got jumped on for his troubles. I will also say he is wrong.
Vince McMahon admits his product is scripted and the Referees are all apart of the act. David Stern has neither the honesty or the integrity of Vince McMahon.

  • Double P Reppin the B

The absolute WORST officiated game I’ve ever witnessed as a fan. I’m usually leading the parade against bitching about the refs but this game was LOST solely because of poor officiating. I’ve never been so infuriated with these guys in my life I want to charge the court and rip their heads off, how can they throw Perk out, or ever call a technical on him in EITHER situation. If the league suspends Perk for game 6 because they refuse to rescind his techs I might drive to NBA headquarters and burn it down

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570a7fe06970b LA_Native_Celts_Fan

From the Twitter box on ESPN, the only mention of the techs is this little gem by Adande:
“Upset of the night: 5 technical fouls called in BOS-ORL game, not one on Rasheed Wallace”.

  • mikey

1.The Lakers series comes first for stern and the nba. Once the Suns tied the series 2-2, now the call went in to rig Game 5 of the Boston/Orlando series.
2.The game was rigged from the start. The first key play where you can know the game was nothing but a cheat, was when Wallace blocked Howard and they called a jump ball. They didn’t call a jump ball because of what happened. They called a jump ball because it would have been Celtics ball, and a defensive stop and momentum builder, so they quickly whistled and realized instead of having the Celtics have the ball, Sheed could go up against Howard and Howard would most likely win the tip, which is what happened.
This was the first call in the game where you know right away the game is rigged.
3.Gorat/Perkins. Perkins did absouletly nothing. Should have just been a T on Gortat for knocking Pierce down after the whistle. Then Gortat went over to Perkins. Again that is an instigating play and should not have been a T on Perkins as we all know. They gave the first T on Perkins as a double T to disguise the fact that they were trying all game to hit him with 2 T’s to get a suspension.
4.Perkins fake ejection. Wasn’t even a foul. Wasn’t a T. 100% cheating. There is no doubt about it. Trying to suspend Perkins for Game 6.
5.Howard elbow on Davis. Everybody saw this as a dirty play, what they didn’t realize was that before the elbow it was the biggest play for the Celtics as Nate blocked Howard. Howard got frustrated and thew the elbow INENTIONALLY. Howard should be suspended for Game 6. Howard should have gotten a T. Trust me, the Howard elbow on Davis was 100% INTENTIONAL. Howard did that because he got blocked by Nate Robinson. Howard is playing dirty.
6.Rondo’s T:Not a T. Only Celtics players get treated that way.
6.Daniels concussion. Was a foul on Gortat he was moving towards Daniels and that is a foul.
Howard was playing dirty all game. He has now caught the Celtics with 5-10 elbows. Remember when Howard threw Pierce down in Boston and no T? Because they are trying to protect him now from getting suspended. Howard got 1 foul call all game. Remember the first two rounds for Orlando? Howard had lots of fouls, now he isn’t picking up any. Because now Orlando is playing Boston, and the refs and league cheats against Boston.
Because people are starting to catch on to the cheating, the league stern and the nba are trying a different approach. They are trying to cheat through T’s, flagrants and suspensions and not FT disparity.
People-face facts. The league cheats, they rig games, alot of the cheating has to do with going agianst the Celtics and for the Lakers. It is 100% a fact that the league cheats. Never have I ever seen an nba game where a guy gets thrown out like that, unless it is a Celtics players.
The Celtics have a different standard when officiated by the refs. They get cheated against, they have all season.
    The game does not count.
    Celtics are World Champions!!!

  • mikey

its the refs not the Celtics.
    The Celtics did nothing wrong.
Even calls and they had about a 50/50 chance to win the game.

  • mikey

Howard isn’t the best bigman in the game because he is playing dirty.

  • mikey

    I may already be there.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570a7fe06970b LA_Native_Celts_Fan

The difference is that Orlando, unlike the lakers, has a point guard who can penetrate. A zone will leave guys open on the perimeter and that’s the last thing you want against Orlando (though something we’ve seen far too often in the last couple of games).

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f5cd064970c Count Istvan

Those of you lucky enough to live in Boston and are lucky enough to go to the game Friday please for those of us nowhere close bring it. Be Loud be rude. get on those fuckers in Stern’s army from the tip off. Don’t throw shit or disrupt the game or any of that Laker bullshit but if you think of a name or a chant between now and Friday…let it rip.

  • mikey

You also have to take into account that injuries to Davis, Sheed & Daniels all happened because Perk wasn’t in there.
    It is 100% cheating.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f5ebb21970c JD

Zone was a joke…. but seriously, they need to find a way to slow down Nelson on that pick and roll.

  • mikey

People have been catching on to the FT disparity in rigged games. Now the league has only one choice to cheat through T’s, flagrants & ejections.
Howard’s elbow to Davis should be upgraded to a flagrant and he should sit for Game 6.
    The league cheats.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f5ebb21970c JD

    “The Celtics did nothing wrong.”
IF you watched the Celtics with half a brain the last two games, you’d know that Boston looks stagnant on offense and can’t deal with Nelson/Howard on defense for whatever reason. I’ve already stated that the refs did suck, but the problems run deeper than just bad calls.

  • Rodger

Heres what i said 15 hour ago right here.
    Rodger said…
Lets hope we can do this in 6 cause the fix is in again tonight.
We had one bad ref in last game making sure we didnt win.
Tonight we gotta deal with 3 of the worst refs in the leauge Joe Crawford Eddie F. Rush & Tom Washington.
I said last night if phoenix won boston will lose. If lakers would have won boston wins it will be a la boston series sterns just trying to make some money.
Too many sweeps and 5 game series this year.
I’m not blaming the whole loss on the refs.
Cause we did enough ourselfs to lose but they didnt help any look at last nightS la phoenix game I think theres a 20 free throw differnce.
Dwight howards is a dirty player he should have got at least 2 flagrents in that game thrown out and suspened for tonight at least lebrons just a cry baby dwights both a cry baby slash dirty elbow throwing mf.
Boston gotta beat 8 guys tonight keep there heads in the game ignore the calls and they got a chance.

I am so fucking mad about this game it’s not even funny. I want nothing more than to beat the Magic by 50 points on Friday in Boston and the fans charge the court when we win and trample the refs

  • mikey

Nobody should be paying these people or this league.
    Nobody.
    The sport is fake.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570a7fe06970b LA_Native_Celts_Fan

Humor of any sort is lost on me right now.

  • NineSevenEight

That was a complete disgrace to whatever true fans the NBA has left. No only do the Celtics lose Perkins for the game, they lose their one defender who can man up on Howard thus changing the ENTIRE GAME PLAN. How do you prepare for losing Perk in the SECOND QUARTER? Who saw that coming? I don’t care what anyone says about preparing for everything, not in my wildest dreams would I expect a team to “play through it” when players are getting tossed on complete garbage.
Those THREE BS calls, the NON-FOUL FOUL on Perk included, just changed EVERYTHING in this series. And the Magic, their fans, and Mike Breen all walk away with shit eating grins on their faces.
I’m disappointed in Doc for not stepping up to defend Perk. He looks like he really is halfway out the door on this team. Those were atrocious calls and he stood by and accepted them….in a PLAYOFF SERIES.
I commend the Celtics for keeping it close for as long as they could, but when your teammates are going down left and right there’s only so much you can do.
And so long as Dwight can continue to “inadvertently” bring his elbows straight down after every shot attempt, these games are going to get really ugly. Dwight smacked Rondo in the face on a drive to the basket and they bailed him out to give the call to Lewis. How many fouls did Dwight pick up this game, two?
Who knows what happens next? Apparently David Stern.

  • Rodger

I knew this 16 hours ago imagine that but dont give up hope it will be la boston but let me warn you if phoenix wins tomoroow boston will go 7 games.

  • SorryMan

Try game 2 of the 08′ finals when leon powe had more makes that our entire team had attempts… now you know how it feels :(

  • Greg

Lol, so many whiners it’s incredible. I’ve never seen a player get more calls than Paul Pierce and you clowns have the gall to blame refs? Incredible. I warned you to calm down on your celebration. You all are not that good and it was only a matter of time before we woke up. Well now we’re awake. See you on Sunday at Amway. ;)

  • mikey

only 1 foul call for Howard.
Look at his foul totals for the first 2 series. The calls went against Howard in the first 2 series, becuase the league thought they had a chance to cheat the Cavs past Boston.
Now that the Cavs are out, the calls go for Orlando.
    Its 100% cheating.
Davis, Daniels & Sheed injuries all happened because of the Perkins ejections. That is a fact. It cannot be disputed. The league cheats.
    Don’t pay these people.

  • Danno

I’m trying really hard to think of a way to make a statement to the NBA and the Refs Friday when I’m at game 6 without getting arrested.
I’ve got nothing. Everything that comes to mind involves arrestable offenses. Eddie Rush is a criminal. I hope he gets canned.
But moreso – I hope that Perk’s techs get rescinded, so that he gets to play in game 6 – so Doc can carry out order 66 and send Sheldon in to punch out Howard.

  • mikey

Wrong. We don’t know how it feels.
You named one game where the Celtics got calls in 65 years.
    Congrats.
I can name you 100-1000 games where the Celtics have been cheated against and don’t try me, becuase I know alot of those games.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570a7fe06970b LA_Native_Celts_Fan

Leon went to the basket. Your team didn’t. Sorry man.

  • Boston Man

    Dwight is a dirty player.
Anybody who plays ball knows that the “Pierce shoulder throwdown” and the “Baby concussion elbow” were intentional and not natural movements in the game.

  • mikey

Leon got calls in Game 2 08 because they did a halftime piece on him about being homeless.
    Wake up.
Don’t try and make this like it is a Celtics problem. That is why the Celtics did not sign Leon. They knew he got calls in that game.

  • mikey

    not seeing you there.
    get a life.

  • Joe A

The funniest thing is, the one tech that should have been called on the C’s (Pierce’s push on Reddick) wasn’t called. The rest of the calls were bullshit. And it’s amazing what Dwight Howard is allowed to get away with. He constantly swings those elbows and gets away with an obscene amount of after-play contact (like what he did to Pierce this game and Perkins last game)yet no flagrants or technical fouls get called. This game ranks up there with game 6 of the Lakers-Kings series back in 2002. If you can’t beat’em, cheat’em.

  • NineSevenEight

Shoulder throwdown is Dwight’s second signature move behind the elbow, he did it to Perk in game 4.

  • mikey

a lot of those guys are criminals what they do. they should not be reffing. too many games. and it is the same refs over and over again I told you that was a problem.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f5cd064970c Count Istvan

Hey don’t talk to Joe Crawford that way. Ok Maybe he’s Eddie Rush.

  • James

I HATE blaming losses on the refs…and I don’t completely blame the ref crew for this one, either. Magic were ridiculous from 3 tonight. But…
If they hold Perk out for game 6 I don’t know if I’m watcing another game in this series. There were arguably 3 techs on the C’s that should be looked hard at (both of perk’s, and rondo’s). You KNOW it’s bad if the ESPN crew starts to say how ridiculous these calls are. JVG was completely right, why can’t rondo talk to a ref if he wants?
Also, Dwight Howard is a downright dirty player. If we have enough bigs in game 6 somebody needs to HAMMER him. I don’t know if I’m the only one who noticed but that elbow to big baby didn’t look so accidental. At this point he has a reputation for this crap and the league needs to take action to save face.
Needless to say game 6 is a MUST WIN.

  • mikey

If Pierce gets a T for that where is Barnes T for pushing Garnett into Van Gundy.
The league does not officiate the Celtics like other teams.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f5cd064970c Count Istvan

    Oops wrong spot.

  • mikey

Howard’s elbow to Davis was 100% INTENTIONAL. Trust me. Howard got mad because he got blocked by Nate. Then he threw the elbow. Trust me. It was 100% Intentional. If Nate doesn’t block Howard, Howard doesn’t throw the elbow.

  • Lorilei

I agree with this completely. I’m a Celtics fan from all the way in Hawaii.

  • BIGMT

If David Stern had any balls/dignity he would immediately suspend every referee on the floor tonight for the remainder of the playoffs. The tick-tack fouls that were being called at the beginning of the game set the tone for the whole night. The technicals called were simply ATROCIOUS and the demeanor of Joey Crawford after he called the technical on Rondo was just disgusting. The Magic deserved to win this game but I truly believe that the ref’s performance tonight is another black eye for the NBA.

  • mikey

The league cheating against the Celtics is a real thing.
People are staring to wake up and that gives them less and less opportunities to try and cheat.
Now they are resorting to T’s, flagrants and ejections to cheat, because we as fans are all over that FT disparity crap.
    The league is cheaters.
Don’t worry people know about it.
This series is already fake, the Celtics are already World Champions.

  • mikey

Orlando did NOT deserve this game. The refs gave them all the momentum calls and in effect took 4 CELTICS PLAYERS out of the game. Perkins, then Davis Sheed & Daniels all trying to cover for Perk.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f5ebb21970c JD

    Its understandable

  • Lorilei

This game pissed me off so bad.

  • Greg

Nate fouled Dwight on that you dumbass. If your team wasn’t filled with a bunch of pussies you could hang with the big boys. Unfortunately, that leaves the Redsarmy merryband of whiners to come out in full force. Dwight gets hammered on every damn play, half of which never gets called. Learn the game.

  • mikey

Look I’m happy the Cavs and LeBron are out. I actually like Orlando although Howard is starting to get really stupid. So I’m not going to get that crazy over it. Orlando has not been getting calls, until they play the Celtics, so I am not bothered by it.
    People know though.
Nobody is getting away with this.
The series is already 100% tainted. The league is just digging a hole for themselves. People aren’t that stupid. They know the Boston Celtics are 2009-10 World Champions.

  • mikey

Howard doesn’t get hammered because then he would get hurt. He gets lightly touched, or intentionally fouled to shoot 2 FT. He is NOT getting hammered.
Stop with the stupid comments already.

  • 34AtTheBuzzer

We’ll see, douchebag. I’m not blaming the entire game on piss-poor officiating, as a matter of fact, I’ll say they’ve played like shit the last 2 games. Boston will dig deep and find a way to win. That’s what championship teams do. Save your shit-talk for when your team has actually accomplished something. Next time you’re in Boston you should stop at the Garden and look to the rafters. 17 banners is a beautiful sight…

  • mikey

Refs cheat by momentum. It is like dominos or going bowling.
The Davis, Sheed & Daniels injuries all happened because of the stupid cheating ref who tossed Perkins.

Ok, before this series started, I fully expected the Magic to win 2 or maybe 3 games-but not like this. The C’s were on their heels from about 5 minutes in to the game, and the injuries/calls/fatigue just kept them down. The C’s really were hurt by only 1 day off-they looked tired all night. But we also have to give credit where due: Magic shot the lights out from 3-that has been a staple of their success all year, and you knew they would not shoot poorly forever. The elbows, bad tech calls, concussions, all that stuff is out of our hands. We have to manipulate what IS in our hands-better help D, boxing out and ball-movement. We just looked flat again tonight from the jump. I see Perk’s tech(s) being reversed, him having a good defensive game on Howard Friday, and us closing out on their shooters. KG will come back w/a strong game too. Have to remember now that only 1 day off between games will favor Orlando. Also, we CANNOT let them score 30+ in the 1st again on Friday-that just gives them way too much confidence. Have faith CelticNation-our defense will lock-in again on Friday and send these guys packing (finally).

Amen. That’s pretty much how I know if Boston is there or not. I know this sounds weird but I’ll feel better if we are down after the first quarter Friday night 19-17 then I would if we were up 35-31. 31 points in the first quarter 2 games in a row is too much.

    co-sign, agree, 100% 1 billion percent.

  • Greg

“Save your shit-talk for when your team has actually accomplished something.”
    Likewise brother.

  • DRJ

It’s impossible to know now how this will end, i.e., what the league has planned. That they are able to control the outcomes of games is very clear. Anything can happen now. I’ll just say this… that IF they steal a series from the Celtics, I will leave the NBA for good. And along with me will be AT LEAST some 10s of thousands of other ex-fans. Maybe more.
In the Internet age… the hyper-information age… in which we live… they’d have to be crazy to think they can get away with this. The truth ALWAYS finds a way to light these days, and it will in this case too.

  • mikey

Orlando only got 30 tonight in the first because they got calls.
    Refs give momentum calls.
Nate makes a monster block, Howard throws an elbow, but instead because of the refs, Orlando keeps the momentum, because Davis got hurt, from an elbow that should suspend Howard for Game 6.
Same thing with the Perkins ejection, there was no foul. It was a momentum call.
That is how you know the league is fake.

  • mikey

The Celtics already won 18 titles, and 8 of the guys on the team are 2 time champs.
I like Orlando Greg, but you are getting stupid.
I will always like Orlando Magic and have always rooted for them.
But you don’t get anywhere acting like an idiot.
If you want to post go to the Orlando site, or make normal comments.
    Stop writing stupid stuff.

  • mikey

    Greg you’re getting stupid.
Make a normal post, or don’t post at all.
The refs cheated tonight the game doesn’t count.
NOBODY gets ejected for what Perkins did.
NOBODY in the league and you know that.

  • Rodger

Maybe you should watch some basketball cause dwight howard took 816 free throws during the regular season paul 433 who gets moe calls?

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f5cd064970c Count Istvan

Mikey the officiating was awful and yes I believe corrupt but Boston was leaving guys so open maybe Greg could have made some of those shots…ok probably not.
Honestly if the officiating was honest tonight my hunch is Boston loses. Not by 20 but loses none the less.

  • mikey

People know. They know the league cheats.
The fans have done something great in that respect.
I’m glad the Cavs are out because that stopped the league from cheating Plan A, now they are on Plan B, and if the Lakers lose they will be on Plan C, and when the Celtics go to the Finals they will resort to plan D.
But they will still be trying to cheat.

    That’s not right.
It was a 7 point game when Perkins got ejected, then they gave Howard 2 FT, and a tech FT for Redick, they gave another free tech FT for no reason on Rondo.
Then 3 guys got hurt, 2 who wouldn’t have even been in the ball game had Perk not been ejected.
The game was 100% decided by the refs.
On the road, and Perkins got ejected for exactly what?
Everbody knows the Perkins ejection was cheating by the league.
    That decided the game.
    Nothing else.
Because at that point in the game, nothing else really matters.
Like I said the Celtics should have walked off the court after that ejection.

  • mikey

We’re on the road against a team with 59 regular season wins and no this isn’t Cleveland because we already beat them.
And Perkins got ejected for what?
    People know what cheating is.
    We’re not stupid.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p0115704263ce970b Papa Irish

The refs were too bad to even talk about, i dont even want to begin to get into them
I think Dwight Howard has the mental fortitude of a peanut, and if the Celtics fans chanted anything near like we did to lebron, we would totally get to him and throw him off his game
here are some of the ones i came up with to take my mind of rush&crawfordgate:
    (During free throws)
Lois Lane clap clap clap clap clap
SuperFraud clap clap clap clap clap
The two best ones ive come up with though are
    (During offensive possesions)
Post up Dwight clap clap clap clap clap
    and
Id also love it if we had a big eff you chant for the game 5 refs and stern
like after every call the magic get break out a STERN WANTS SEVEN clap clap clap clap clap chant
So for me id go with lois lane chant while dwights at the free throw line, post up dwight on certain possesions, and the BIG ONE stern wants seven after every foul call for the magic
if there was only one used i would definitely love the stern wants seven chant

  • mikey

    Why was Perkins ejected?
Because he had 5 T’s going into the game and the league wants him to be suspended.
    No other reason.
They did the same thing to Dwight Howard last year against the Cavs, they tried to suspend him.
Now that the Cavs are out, and Orlando is playing Boston now Orlando gets the cheating on their side.
Perk got ejected because he had 5 T’s going into the game and the league wanted to cheat.
    No other reason.

  • mikey

yes cool fans should be going crazy.
    stop the cheating.

  • Rodger

Hey greg did you figure out how to add free throws yet 816-433 and dwight howard is a punk.

  • mikey

And if any Orlando fans are reading this let me say this.
I like Orlando Magic and always will, they are good guys. Vince is a good guy and I like Stan and they have good guys on the bench too. I rooted hard for you guys in last years playoffs and rooted for you guys during this years regular season too.
Just remember, you know very well about cheating. 2009 ECF Cavs vs. Magic was one of the most rigged series ever, with the refs and the league doing everything in their power to cheat for LeBron and the Cavs still lost. So you guys know what it is like to be cheated against.
However, from our perspective, the Celtics, we don’t win like that. We don’t win with a key big man on the opposing team getting ejected like that for no reason.
So know what happened in this game. The refs cheated for Orlando. That would be ok, maybe, just maybe if it wasn’t against Boston.
    But it was against Boston.
We don’t win games like that and never have, so remember that and accept it.
Accept the fact that the refs cheated for Orlando in Game 5, but it wasn’t really the cheating for Orlando. It was the cheating against the Celtics. That is what the league does.
The league cheats against the Celtics.
1 season out of the last 20 with less personal fouls than their opponent over the course of an 82 game regular season.
1 season out of 20 for the Celtics getting calls.
18 seasons out of 20 for the Lakers getting calls.
Only twice in the past 20 years have the Lakers been called for more personal fouls than their opponent over the course of an 82 game regular season.
    That proves the cheating.
    And it cannot be disputed.
    It is proof.

  • Santhosh

Rodger, i appreciate that. But one question. Will Perkins play game 6 or not???

  • oooP

honestly the elbow doesn’t look the slightest bit intentional. here’s the best vid i could come up with so soon after the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIjZvbYPLJw
but it looks like howard and davis’s arms were entangled so howard’s arm slid down davis’s and met the side of davis’s head because of the way davis was looking. i hope big baby is ok, it was scary after he ran down the court and they went to time out.

  • mikey

after seeing the replay again it is so obvious that the elbow is 100% INTENTIONAL!!!
After Nate blocked Dwight, Dwight got angry and let his elbow carry through into Davis’s face. Had Dwight not gotten embarrased by Nate he wouldn’t have let his elbow carry through like that. Howard did that out of frustration.
Dwight’s elbow clearly carried through into Davis’s face, and it was done 100% Intentionally becuase Howard got frustrated that he got blocked by Nate.
Howard should be suspended for Game 6.
    No question about it.

  • teaguejd

look, mikey. You just showed correlation, not causality. There are many many many many MANY reasons as to why there might be disparities like that in foul calls. It can be style of defense, quality of defenders, team ethos, etc…correct me if I am wrong, but the Celtics have always prided themselves on being hard-nosed defenders, with a no layup mentality. I LOVE that style of play, but it means you get called for more fouls. The Lakers on the other hand have been lets say “challenged” on the defensive end for much of their existence. This is the first year I can remember that they have had any luck at that end, and even now they are sucking it up vs. Phoenix. As a result, teams tend to get buckets without the Lakers fouling them. This example is merely showing how a teams ethos can affect its predilection towards fouling

  • Mike Munger-Return to the Rafters

This game was as bad as Game 6 of the 2002 Kings/Lakers series. Anyone who thinks this game wasn’t crooked is an idiot. PERIOD. Without the refs on their side the last 2 games the Magic wouldn’t be shit.

  • teaguejd

Yeah, it sucked balls, but Lakers haven’t been getting a smooth ride either. -22.25/game free throw differential in our 4 losses, and -17 per game on the road as a whole these playoffs. Both teams have been getting jobbed. Lakers haven’t been outscored from the field once all playoffs.

  • mikey

    You are 100% wrong.
    The numbers prove it.
The numbers who causality, the word you used.
There isn’t any reason in a disparity of foul calls contrasting two different teams, the Celtics and Lakers over the past 20 years.
There is no excuse for it. There is 1 reason and 1 reason only.
    Cheating.
When a player shoots a 3PT and gets touched on the hand then shoots 3 FT, was that because that player was attacking the basket?
Why did Perkins get 2 techs tonight?
Because he prides himself on hard-nose defense?
No. It was 100% because of cheating.
    The numbers prove it.

ummm no. how about the league cheats for the Lakers and against the Celtics.
That is what the numbers show.
Not some hard nosed getting buckets without fouling crap.

  • mikey

Lakers don’t get jobbed like that.
Yes the Suns may be getting a call here and there in this series, but the Lakers aren’t losing Odom in the 1st half because of 2 fake T’s.
So know what the difference is.

  • mikey

The difference is that when the Lakers get jobbed it is only 1-2 calls and can easily be overcome.
Celtics losing Perkins over nothing in the 1st half?
    That is a bit ridiculous.
The Lakers aren’t dealing with that kind of stuff.

  • mikey

The Lakers are -2475 in PF over the last 20 years.
The Celtics are +2070 in PF over the last 20 years.
That is a +4545 +/- margin for the Lakers in getting calls vs their opponent vs the Celtics getting calls vs their opponent in the past 20 years.
    +4545.
Here let me spell it out for you.
Four thousand, five hundred & forty five more foul calls against the Celtics than the Lakers in the past 20 years.
Let me recap these numbers again.
    +4545.
    That proves cheating.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570423591970b KobeWearsAPurpleThong

Exactly. I mean, did the C's not know these guys were gonna come out pumped? But I also chock that up to the whole "one-day off" thing. The C's really shot themselves in the foot by not closing-out in Game 4. But oh well-if they are truly champions, they will find a way to win this series.

  • teaguejd

    Game 3 @ OKC, OKC 34 FTA, LAL 12.
    Game 4 @ OKC, OKC 48 FTA, LAL 28.
    Game 3 @ PHX, PHX 42 FTA, LAL 20.
    Game 4 @ PHX, PHX 32 FTA, LAL 13.
And honestly? Lakers deserved to lose those games. Their defense was atrocious, and their offense was a joke. Nevertheless, they still outscored their opponents from the field.
Not to mention….take all those calls, and divide by the number of games. It becomes a lot less impressive then, and easily explained by differences in defensive styles. Saying someone scored 1000 points in a season is a lot more impressive than saying he scored about 12.2 ppg.

  • Double P Reppin the B

Lets not get into which team is dealing with what and all that. The fact of the matter is we are looking at basically a must win on Friday night in Boston. Let’s pray that Perk has some Ts rescinded and we come out on fire and put this damn team away Friday night. This game sucked, the refs made some absolutely HORRIBLE calls against the Celtics and in turn caused us to lose the game. We still have a 3-2 series lead going back to Boston so let’s make it count. Third times the charm is what they always say? Well lets hope so. The pressure is still on the Magic no matter what because they are in the most vulnerable position, don’t lose sight of what this team has accomplished thus far and the fans need to BRING IT on Friday night to give their team a boost

  • teaguejd

Also, are you including playoff games in your totals? If so, the differences are gonna be even greater give that the Lakers played in far more playoff games in the last 20 years iirc.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570423591970b KobeWearsAPurpleThong

The Perkins tech was obviously bogus, but my friend, Orlando did not score 31 in the 1st half because of the refs. It was obvious to me they (the Celts) were a step-behind, especially early. Of course there were some terrible calls tonight, but the Magic shot almost 60% from 3. Here's a great example of Pierce trying to help on penetration & not getting back out on Barnes in that 1st quarter. If you can explain to me how that's the refs' fault, I'll buy you a ticket to Game 6. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EItPbPfkDk

  • mikey

Yes I undestand that, the Lakers have made more field goals in every game this postseason. But you are taking only 1 postseason.
This has been going on for over 20 years.
    The numbers prove it.

  • mikey

Those are only regular season numbers.
But the numbers in the playoffs are cheating garbage also.
In the Celtics last 114 playoff games, 71 TIMES they have shot less FT than their opponent and 71 TIMES they have been called for more personal fouls.
Those are playoff games, that include 2 seasons of Larry Bird, and all of Paul Pierce’s career.
There is no excuse for those number.
    It is cheating.

  • teaguejd

out of curiosity, what are the exact numbers on the FTs? And have you looked at the FTA/FGA, as well the shot distribution per game? In the games which the Lakers lost, they took FAR more 3s than the games they won.

  • mikey

teague all of this is from 1990-91 to 2009-10 that is when the cheating takes place.
In 1990-91 & 1991-92 the Celtics were both cheated out of playoff series with the Pistons and Cavs because they didn’t want the Celtics to beat the Bulls.
The cheating started with giving Jordan calls and continues with the most lopsided numbers ever between two teams that are the best two franchises in basketball the Celtics and the Lakers.
How those 2 teams have been called in the past 20 years is the most lopsided thing I have ever seen in my life between two teams that are supposed to be even.
Yes the Lakers had 17 winning seasons out of the past 20, the Celtics have had 9 winning seasons out of the past 20, so the numbers should be much much much closer.
And I’m not saying the Lakers aren’t getting jobbed a little in the 2010 postseason I know they are making more field goals than their opponent.
But 1 bad call here in there will not stop the Lakers.
8-10 bad calls per game ALMOST EVERY GAME, against the Celtics, with bogus T’s, flagrants and ejections and suspensions coming EVERY SINGLE TIME it is almost anywhere near plausible to call the Celtics for and it gets called.
Will Odom be ejected in the 1st half of Game 5?
    No.
That is why you don’t have any meaningful important information to comment on.
The Lakers just simply don’t get cheated like that.

  • mikey

teague stick with the stats and facts.
3 out of 40 seasons with the Celtics getting calls, or the Lakers opponents getting calls.
I already told you, I know the Lakers have been playing well in the postseason and may be getting jobbed here and there, but they are not in any way going through what the Celtics go through with the refs.
I don’t have every exact stat for every exact game right now, but I have plenty of stats. And all the stats show is cheating.
3 out of 40 seasons is not possible.
That is 37 seasons for the Lakers.
And 3 seasons for the Celtics.
3 out of 40 works out to 7.5%, it is supposed to be closer to 50/50, maybe 60/40, maybe 70/30, but not 92.5/7.5 and that is how Lakers/Celtics games have been called for the past 20 years.
    Proof of cheating.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570423591970b KobeWearsAPurpleThong

Seriously dude, I respect your passion and fandom, but enough. Really. Thanks.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570423591970b KobeWearsAPurpleThong

Well said as usual. But..I really think the pressure is ALL on us. The Magic are expected to lose-we have a target on our back as the Celtics and we are already being compared to the Bruins. ALL the pressure is on us, but I like that-we play well like that. I hope to be there Friday and will bring it like never before. Believe that.

  • teaguejd

In the simplest of terms, the Celtics roster from 93 till 2007 sucked cocks. That explains the lack of winning seasons. Lakers sucked for a bit in the mid 90s, and again from 04-07 (starting 5 of Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, Luke Walton, Lamar Odom, and Kobe Bryant for a year).
As for bogus T’s and suspensions? Talk to the Suns. Your team in the last 3 years has prided itself on hardnosed basketball, and as such gets called for T’s and fouls. Lakers are as soft as charmin on the other hand, and thus don’t get whistled as much.

  • who da guy

i dont post here often….the last post i made was before the playoffs, where a lot of people had written this team off. what i said then i still believe now, we WILL win the championship, not because anyone is going to give it to us, but because we are going to take it.
Everyone hates a winner, and red rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, and we have been having to live with that for a long time. To me, i dont even want to get into refs, because i think most of us feel like the celtics have had to play more then 5 on 5 for a while now.
i think mikey is right, but needs to smoke something, and relax.
basically, we need to take a we against the world mentality, and while i would have liked doc to rip the refs and david stern a new one, do u think he is saying those same things in the locker room? No, he is pissed off, and greg, and everyone else will see.
We will crush the spirit out of the magic, we will get ron jeramy’s fat ass fired, and we will get our justice. Just have faith people, believe….we need to believe.
And one last thing, baby probably wont go, so i think its time for Brian Scalabrine and Big shelden to make their money.

  • mikey

    enough of what?
Did Perkins play in the 2nd half tonight?
    No.
So I have no idea what you are talking about.
Tell Eddie Rush enough, don’t be telling that to me.

  • http://www.gayporn.com stfu
  • mikey

The not winning from 1993 to 2007 line doesn’t work. The Celtics went to the ECF in 2002. The Lakers had medicore seasons from 1990-2010 as well.
9 winning seasons for the Celtics since 1990-91.
17 winning seasons for the Lakers since 1990-91.
That works out to be about 65/35 in winning seasons for the Lakers/Celtics.
But the ref numbers work out to be 92.5/7.5 Lakers/Celtics so you don’t know what you are talking about.
Like I said given that the Celtics were not good for a number of years and the Lakers did have lots of great seasons since 1990-91, 70/30 I can deal with.
The winning records show that 65/35 would be more like it.
But that is not how the league is calling the games.
They are calling them 92.5/7.5 Lakers/Celtics.
92.5% of the time Lakers get favorable calls.
7.5% of the time Celtics get favorable calls.
    That is cheating.

  • mikey

who da guy I am relaxed that is the point.

I’m not talking to the Suns.
    This is a Celtics site.
Yes the Suns got cheated with the cheap shot from Horry in 2007, and they have a great team this year, and I like the Suns always have.
But the Suns have nothing to do with this, this is about the cheating that takes place against the Celtics.
Who gets ejected from Game 5 ECF?
Any Celtics player with 5 Tech’s going into the game. That is it.
No other player in the league would have ever been ejected from this kind of game.
    Nobody. Only a Celtic player.

  • mikey

Not only that, but I would say that ALL 7 TECHS that Perk got this postseason are complete bogus.
I think 5 were on double techincals. Any double technical can be started by an opposing player to frustrate another player. Because the players aren’t going to let themselves get pushed around, because that doesn’t work either.
Players, refs & league officials all cheat against the Celtics because that is the only way they can win the games.
You will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER see a Lakers player ejected like that in a WCF, or Finals.
    You will never see that.

  • mikey

    Stop the Cheating.
    2009-10 BOSTON CELTICS WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!
    ITS ALL OVER!!!

  • mikey

    no they don’t.
the bad calls are the problem and nothing else.
This is a best of 7 series, Celtics aren’t going to play perfect on every possesion.
They’ve played well enough for the series to be over.

  • Mauritz

Hey, mikey, I’m just as upset as you are. But seriously, how many times have you written the word “cheating” in the comments to this post? 386? We got your point. If not 2/3 of the posts in these threads were from you, it would be a lot easier to keep interest in what people are sying. Now I just feel fatigued. Next game, how about settling for 1/4 of the comments?

  • DRJ

TO ANYONE WHO BELIEVES THE MAGIC “OUTPLAYED” THE CELTICS IN GAME 5, AND DESERVED TO WIN:
Understand that the Celtics’ game plan for the Magic has been the same from the beginning, and must be the same through to the end: they MUST be able to guard Howard with ONE defender, and have everyone else deal with the rest of the Magic team, 4 on 4. The moment Perk was thrown out, with Sheed already saddled with 3 early fouls — the result was written on the wall. Once Baby got taken out, there really was NOBODY left to handle Howard except Sheed, and he had only 3 fouls left. His game changed dramatically as a result, of course. And this completely DESTROYED the Celtics’ key plan for beating the Magic.
The refs’ behavior had effects that reached a LOT FURTHER than the the obvious stuff on the surface. It changed the complexion of the entire game for the Cs, and as it turned out, it was a deadly blow.
Of course, the same logic also applies to Game 6… the only difference is that Sheed will start with 6 fouls. It will help if Baby is able to play. But if Perk is not — that will be ANOTHER HUGE BLOW to the Celtics.
You cannot overstate the significance of Rush’s horrible officiating in this game. Do not for a second believe that the Magic “outplayed” the Celtics — unless you are also taking into account the devastating effect of losing Perk.

  • mikey

Sorry, not when Perkins gets ejected like that.
I have no idea why you are trying to tell me what to do either.
Eddie Rush ejects Perkins and Crawford makes two stupid tech calls on Perkins and Rondo, so the first person you blame is me?
Because I made a bunch of posts on a website?
It is a website, I make posts on a blog. That’s it. I’m not a ref, I don’t make money off of basketball, I don’t control people. No idea why you want to blame me.
You seriously have to get your priorities straight.

  • mikey

not only that, but the double tech with Gortat and Perkins should have just been a T on Gorat – 1 point.
No foul on Perkins horrible call -2 points.
No tech in Perk -1 point.
That is already 4 points BEFORE Perkins was ejected and they were down 7 points before the ejection? So it was really a 3 point game going into the 2nd half with all the Celtics players healty.
Davis, Sheed & Daniels ALL got hurt because of the cheating by the refs on the Perk ejection and no other reason.
No way those guys get hurt like that if Perkins was in the game, they were trying to step up and be physical.
Refs cheated, lets see them try it again those stupid liars.
When you see an article on espn and the 1st 15 comments all complain about the officiating from 15 different users that tells you something.

  • mikey

Perk’s 2nd T was horrible, but his first T was even worse.
Watch what Gorat does, he is walking towards Perkins AFTER he knocks Pierce down AFTER the whistle went off.
Same thing Quentin did in a different situation, and this time Perk didn’t even see him, his hand slipped helping up Pierce.
The TWO WORST TECHINCALS anybody has ever seen this playoffs in the 1st situation a Celtic player has 5 T’s going into the game and you really don’t think this league cheats please people it is proof.

  • mikey

The bad news is the Celtics got robbed in Game 5.
The good news is that I just took a really big dump.
And at 5:20 in the morning it really is a thing of beauty.
Hope I don’t get banned for this comment.

  • hulk hogan

mikey….you are the dumbest fucker in the world… go ahed with your 9/11 theory… it´s very funy… but you are right, everything is fixed in the nba. this is not wrestling man. stop crying like a baby…

  • mikey

Yeah but you’re 100% wrong and I’ll tell you why.
The nba has nothing to do with 9/11.
So just the fact that you bought that up shows that everything else in your post is garbage.
I don’t know where you get the words crying or baby from either. I’m typing words using my keypad on a computer. I haven’t shed one tear.
So next time please make a comment that makes sense.
And don’t use hogan as a name either. The guy is a good guy but had some pretty weird stuff happen so either use your real name or get a new one.

  • mikey

    Advice.
1.Replace the word “dumbest” with “smartest”.
    2.Repeat step 1.

  • James

As far as all the “oh but they hack Dwight all the time” comments I’ve seen on different sites….there’s a HUGE difference between wrapping your arms around a guy on his way up to dunk so he can’t get a 3 point play and blatantly swinging your elbows hard at someone’s head. Once or twice you could say it was unintentional, but this is becoming his rep. Somebody needs to put him on his ass in game 6….hard. Douche

  • mikey

It has now been 9 hours since the nba disrespected Kendrick Perkins.
nba you owe Perk an apology.
    Lets go.

  • idrinkdetergent

He is playing dirty, how many times does he throw someone to the ground or just elbow them in the head after the play? Pierce and Rondo are gonna be the next ones with head injuries if the League doesn’t do something about it.

  • 34AtTheBuzzer

Likewise?! Are you kidding or just stupid? I’ve witnessed 4 championship banners hoisted in my years of watching the Celtics, added to the other 13 that were there before my time. How many have you seen by the Magic? Piss off…

  • arry

c’mon guy’s, are you really surprised.?we konow that the nba ref’s cheat, it’s a fact.!!i can see the ref’s getting caught up in the heat of the moment and call a tech..but the one on rondo is the one that baffles me.?that tells me they had no control at that point..trust me, the fans of boston will not let the c’s lose on friday night.?

  • http://profile.typepad.com/the_bantam the_bantam

How bizarre, how bizarre. The refs are too easy to focus on. Complete randomness. I think aside from the T’s, the biggest impact was how the C’s couldn’t play physical but the Magic could bang around like crazy. I think that more than anything was the worst impact the refs had.
I felt like that game was played on Mars. Just hated every second of it. The C’s need to contain Nelson, need to be able to play physically.
It feels odd, I actually didn’t think they played THAT poorly until the end. The were fighting hard, they came out hard after the b.s.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/the_bantam the_bantam

Right on dude. I like how the C’s didn’t take it laying down, they worked hard. They just need to be cut-throat relentless on Friday, KG Cobra style possessed.
Where do I insert a cheesy picture? or a YouTube clip of Stallone as Cobra?

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570423591970b KobeWearsAPurpleThong

Exactly! Time to play that A-Team music…

  • http://recognizethegame.com Rosef

Plain and simple. 3 big techs that all have the possibility to be rescinded is unacceptable. That can not happen in any NBA game. Orlando did come out hungry so they do deserve credit but that was the most poorly officiated game I have ever seen. Zero control of the game and poor calls all around. Disgusting and the worst part is…it was expected.

  • CoachBo

    Meh.
I’m not as worried about the officials as I am the suddenly decrepit performance of the Celtics at both ends of the floor.
Jeebus, if we don’t start defending – especially the pick and roll – none of the rest of this crap will matter. We’ll just be picking the ball out of the nets in the next two losses.
Haven’t seen that kind of crap defense since the regular season.

  • Shawn-cvd

    Well said

  • Shawn-cvd

Between him and Baby I’m happy we kept Baby…

  • ringo

Mikey, do you have a job? Or better yet, a life? It is unreal to me how many times you have posted. It was one game, get over it and get on with your life.

  • Shawn-cvd

    Agree 1000%

  • mikey

    It was one game?
    Really?
11/13/09 After LeBron makes a statement telling other players what to do and not wear #23, Bill Russell’s original #6 is deemed wearable, as Bill Russell’s original draftee the Atlanta Hawks beat the Celtics 97-86 after a stretch of 5:38 all in the 4th Qtr where the Celtics got whistled for 10 consecutive foul calls in a row. The first time it has ever happened in NBA history. Here it is in the box score 09:17 Wallace Foul : Offensive (4 PF) 08:34 Perkins Foul : Shooting (4 PF)
08:09 Garnett Foul : Personal (1 PF) 07:42 Perkins Technical
    07:23 Rondo Foul : Personal (3 PF) 06:42 Daniels Foul : Personal (3 PF) 06:08 Pierce Foul : Defense 3 Second 05:56 Allen Foul : Shooting (3 PF) 04:44 Garnett Foul : Personal (2 PF) 03:38 Wallace Foul : Shooting (5 PF) .
12/18/09:The Bucks get cheated for the 2nd consecutive game as they get 4 seconds taken off of their game clock illegaly in Cleveland as the Cavs win 85-82. Bucks coach Scott Skiles was fuming on the sidelines pleading the refs to put the 4 seconds back on the clock, the refs ignored him. Here it is in the box score:Ilyasova Layup Shot: Made (18 PTS) Assist: Delfino (5 AST) 01:53 They ran 4 illegal seconds after the Illyasova shot, under 2 minutes the clock should have stopped.
12/18/09:Earlier that night, 76ers beat the Celtics 98-97. Rasheed Wallace is given 2 techs and ejected in the 3rd. Then with 29 seconds left the Celtics grab the rebound up 1 and an apparent win, only to get a bogus foul call on Perkins on the rebound. Here it is in the box score:00:29.4 Perkins Foul : Loose Ball (5 PF)
12/23/09:Cavs beat the Kings 117-104 in OT in a game where in the 3rd Qtr the Cavs passed the ball from out of bounds and bounced the ball out of bounds off the court and were credited with 2 points. Here it is in the box score:Varejao Jump Shot: Made (6 PTS) Assist: West (4 AST) 00:00.0
12/25/09:Lakers lose to the Cavs 102-87 as fans litter the court with foam fingers. 4 Technicals are called on the Lakers and Odom is ejected. After the ejection with fans still fuming LeBron barrells over Kobe on a good defensive play by Kobe, Kobe is called for the personal and another tech given to Kobe. Here it is in the box score:03:45 Bryant Foul : Personal (3 PF) 03:45 Bryant Technical
12/28/09:Warriors beat Celtics 103-99 as Perkins is hit with a key tech in the 4th for doing absolutely nothing. Here it is in the box score:Perkins Technical 06:13
12/29/09:Cavs beat Hawks 95-84 as a key 4th Qtr clear path foul is called on Josh Smith on a horrible call in which after the Cavs made the three FT they had more points after 4 minutes in the 4th then both teams combined. Mike Woodson is fuming on the sidelines and given a T. Here it is in the box score:07:55 Smith Foul : Clear Path (4 PF)
12/30/09:Hawks lose again to the Cavs 106-101 as the Hawks get 10 seconds taken off of the shot clock in Cleveland with under 2 minutes left. Mike Woodson is fuming over on the sidelines as the refs ignore him yet again. Players feel something is wrong after the game. Mike Woodson protests the game the next day. Here it is in the box score:Horford Rebound (Off:0 Def:6) 01:54 Smith Turnover : Lost Ball (2 TO) Steal:James (2 ST) 01:41
1/06/10:The Wizards are left in disarray when Gilbert Arenas suddenly and surprisingly is suspended finally after 13 days of being known to have guns in the locker room and laugh and not take the issue seriously. The Cavs, and only the Cavs, reap the benefit of the reward as Delonte West, who after being diagnosed with bi-polar and caught with 3 guns after cutting off an officer in September is deemed “fit” to play in the NBA and scores 14 points on 5-7 shooting with the Cavs winning 121-98 against a disorientated and shocked Wizards team.
1/11/10:The Cavs defeat the Warriors 117-114 as Monta Ellis grabs the rebound with 5 seconds left down 3 and calls a timeout. However the timeout is not granted as Warriors coach Don Nelson makes a strange and rather odd reaction to the play by telling Monta to take it up the court, after he already wasted a second to call timeout. Earlier in the 4th LeBron gets away with a clear cut travel as video proof shows him taking 3 steps in the lane after he picked up his dribble, with the left foot in the blue paint, right foot in yellow paint, left foot in yellow paint. Warrior bloggers on their own blog claim LeBron went up off his right foot(Whoever that was, just in case you didn’t know, you can make an “L” with your left hand to mean loser, that is how you know your left from right)Here it is in the box score:James Running Jump Shot: Made (37 PTS) 00:36.7
1/11/10:Earier that evening of course Celtics coach Doc Rivers is fuming after a phony flagrant is called on Glen Davis as Marvin Williams is fouled on a normal foul call with no injury and no scuffle or altercation and nothing up in the air. Rivers goes bananas gets 2 T’s, gets ejected and Celtics assistant coach Armond Hill gets a T and is ejected, the Hawks win 102-96 by scoring 4 points without the ball even being dribbled as Ray Allen later said. Here it is in the box score:Crawford Free Throw Technical (1 PTS) 06:16
Crawford Free Throw Technical (2 PTS) 06:16
06:16 Hill Technical Crawford Free Throw Technical (3 PTS) 06:16
Williams Free Throw Flagrant 2 of 2 (14 PTS)
1/20/09:It happened again people. With just 37 seconds left and the Celtics down 88-84 against the Pistons, Ray Allen plays great defense on Rip Hamilton. Ray knocks the ball loose, the official grants the Pistons a timeout WHILE the ball is bouncing on the floor. Hamilton then dives to save the ball, and gets the ball after the official called a timeout for him. Hamilton was out of bounds and only had 2 seconds left on the 8 second clock. If Hamilton had really called a timeout, why was he diving after the ball? Here is the play in the box score:00:37.4 Team Timeout : Short
    00:37.4 Team Timeout : Regular
And we didn’t even get into February of 2010 and YOU’RE TELLING ME IT WAS ONE GAME!!!
You need to get a life.

  • mikey

crap defense with what Perkins being escorted out of the arena by security?
That is what you call crap defense?
