Enemy Chatter: A lot of ‘if that’ and ‘what if’

I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and
are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose
of 'enemy chatter' from Orlando.

The victory in Game 4 is at least a start. Now the Magic come home
Wednesday night and will be expected to win Game 5, too. If that
happens, suddenly it's 3-2 and the pressure will be back on the Celtics
going back to Boston on Friday night for Game 6. And what if the Magic
can get it back to Orlando for a Game 7 Sunday? Then they would have all
the momentum and undoubtedly be favored to win.

Orlando Sentinel – Put away the brooms

This is the kind of crap I was referring to in the Morning Dump. Imaginary momentum.

In the past 40 years, four teams have swept through the Eastern Conference Finals. It's no easy task.

For those wondering, the Celtics haven't lost 4 straight games all season.

Here are some quotes from Jameer Nelson and JJ Redick:

I didn't call the bank shot, but it went in," said Nelson. "And, you
know, like I said, I kind of misjudged where I was at. I was kind of,
for the first time, wide open, and it kind of shocked me. I kind of
rushed my shot, but it went in and I'm happy it did. It was a big shot
at a crucial point of the game."

"You never know what can happen," Magic guard J.J. Redick said. "We can be like the Red Sox, coming back from 0-3. You
never know."

There will be a game 7. Mark my word chumps. Most of the time when a team goes down 0-3 they are the worse team. But this is the rare case. The Magic are the much better team. It’s only a matter of time before we wake up. And we are starting to awake from our slumber. You better win Game 6 because if you don’t…IT’S OVA!! And yes, I’m already gauranteeing a Game 5 win.

As you’ve been so accurate thusfar, I really appreciate you doing this today. Ladies and Gentlemen: Greg has guaranteed a Game 5 win! Take it to the bank! And just in case it doesn’t work out, “Orlando in 9!”

  • I bleed green in L.A.

We will win game 6, and yes IT’S OVA!! And since we won both games on your floor and have been road warriors all year, we’ll probably win game 5. Doc will simply out coach SVG, watch the panic in his eyes when we’re up double digits in the 4th.
Miami 4-1, Cavs 4-2, Magic 4-1 or 4-2, either way it’s all good.

  • Which ‘word’ should we mark.. chump?
So glad we have such insightful analysis.

Seriously Greg? Seriously? Besides your center where are the other advantages for the Magic? Last I saw they were putting Carter’s mug on a gallon of milk, and wondering if Lewis is going to show up again. The Magic played a good game last night. I’ll give them credit. Let me ask you this. If it took 4 games for the Magic and there coaching staff to make adjustments how long do you think it with take Doc and his staff? Because this is what I will gaurantee. The effort, and d will be worlds better from the Celtics tomorrow night. So have your game 4. Take it in. Bath in it even. Because it’s going to be fun watching Orlando move there roster around this summer trying to figure out a way to beat the Celtics next year.

celtics played a horrible game 4 and yet managed to take orlando to overtime. the celtics simply didnt show up for game 4 but dont expect that for game 5. besides, the vets will enjoy sending the magic fans home from orlando. its like torture. keep em alive just enough so they can feel the pain a little more but ebentually orlando will drop dead because they have no will to fight when things start to go bad. they just take the easy way out and quit. so so sad. go green. BEAT LA! BEAT LA!
