Mike Brown Needs His Eyes Checked

Jay May 3, 2010 Uncategorized 17 Comments

In case you haven’t been following the Twitter updates from Brian Windhorst, he covers the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.  One of his tweets today informed the masses that Mike Brown has sent a video clip to the NBA offices for review.  Which play exactly drew his ire you ask?

It was none other than the hard foul that Shaq committed on Rondo.  It wasn’t outright flagarant, but Shaq was clearly TRYING to send Rondo to the floor.  Stu Jackson won’t need to waste his time reviewing this.  Because here at Redsarmy.com we have intercepted said video and reviewed it ourselves.  We have collectively come to one conclusion: We want a sampling of whatever medication Mike Brown is on.  In fact, Reggie Miller should be tested for the same thing Mike Brown is on, based on his commentary.  Or, we could always recommend that he gets the lenses on those designer frames of his updated.  Check out the evidence below for your own judgement:

EXHIBIT A (and quite honestly, there is no need for exhibits B-Z):

Sorry, maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention to the game. Was this ruled a flagrant? It was not, correct? Anyhow, what is Mike Brown trying to accomplish by sending the clup into the NBA’s office..? Thx.

It was a personal foul, that’s all. I didn’t see any attempt to hurt Rondo nor did I see what Mike Brown is whining about.

That’s an odd call to complain about… must be some kind of gamesmanship. Fine him, Commisioner!

    It’s mind boggling.
Not only is it a foul… it’s a hard foul. It’s not a flagrant. It’s just a good, hard foul.
For Mike Brown to question that REALLY makes me question his basketball knowledge. How does an NBA coach NOT think that’s a foul?

  • NineSevenEight

Wow…guy’s got nerve. The +8 in fouls the Celtics were called for wasn’t enough for him? Shaq was moving INTO Rondo while “going up.” What a life he has.

While he’s at it he should send in a clip of Rondo’s atrocious “charge” to see if they can make it a flagrant on Rajon.

Wait till Mikey finds out about this. PREACH MIKEY!

The NBA should send tapes back to Mike Brown showing calls Lebron got that WERE NOT FOULS!

  • NineSevenEight

Hard to fit that all on one DVD, gonna have to be the season box set. It’s probably easier and less time consuming to send him the fouls that were called correctly.

Brown is trying to keep Shaq outta foul trouble and influencing the refs, (didn’t Stern just try to nix this?), didn’t Phil J do something similar in the finals when we played them?
Bill Polian and the Colts did the same thing when they started getting hot, “look at how my receivers get roughed up”, sent videos to the league, etc… next thing you know Harrison and Wayne are getting flags left and right.

It wasn’t ruled a flagrant. He just wants it reviewed and changed to not being a foul at all. Simply stunning.

  • Donald

It would have to be a “Lord of The Rings Extended Edition” type DVD.

Totally ridiculous. Hope it makes the C's mad too-I feel a win tonight
    is crucial.

Hard to believe, really. I’ve known that Brown was not very clever for a long time… but this is beyond stupidity, it’s actually nuts. Must be something else going on, some kind of angle he thinks he’s playing. (Btw, Shaq jumps from within the restricted zone too, as if that even matters.)

    I’m not preaching.
    Its stats and facts.
All information, that’s all it is.

Windhorst is incorrect. The footage Brown sent to the NBA is of a Shaq foul from the 2nd quarter, where Brown claims Shaq went straight up. That was a foul too, but not as obvious as the rondo foul in the 4th. I assume that Brown is just doing the Phil Jackson routine of trying to save Shaq a foul or two in the series. Windhorst’s tweets are not always the best source of infomration. His articles are fairly accurate, but he has not really gotten the hang of checking your facts before you tweet.
