Quentin Richardson is garbage and should get suspended for the rest of the series.
Quentin was going over to see if Pierce was OK.
    BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Richardson was instigating, that is exactly how they do it they try and make you believe they are doing something right, when the only reason he went over by Pierce was to frustrate and annoy Garnett.
Afte5 Garnett told Richardson to get out of there, he should have left. He deliberately stayed over there to start a fight.
Instigators should get suspended, especially if it is during a timeout. Garnett did the right thing.
Richardson has no respect for Pierce or Garnett.

  • DRJ

    GOOD STUFF:
    – We saw championship level defense from the Cs today, especially in the 4th quarter. All they need is to play that kind of D for 15 more games.
    – TA Rondo were just terrific. TA was either most-valuable guy on the court, or 2nd behind Rondo.
    – Good tough basketball.
    ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:
    – Ray, please, PLEASE don’t go into one of your slumps now. Ok? Find your shot, Tuesday.
    – Perk – very disappointing. Is he a turnover machine? Is he a moron? Whatever… he talked about the OTHER guys’ focus…? And btw Perk, you know, there is a rule in the NBA about dancing without dribbling. They call that a TURNOVER.
    Nice beginning. Looking good.

  • KY Celts fan

    DEFENSE!!!!! How we missed you!
KG will get suspended undoubtedly, though I don’t even think he deserved two Ts.
Very interesting how little Perk played that 2nd half.

  • http://www.palacegarden.info PalaceGarden

Loved the Defense. That’s all we need for 15 more games. The offense will be enough, bring the D!!
Can anyone, and I’m so serious here, anyone tell me why a guy as freaking big as perk needs to bring the ball down below his waist EVERY F’ING time he has the ball?

  • mikey

No Garnett will not get suspended.
    nice try.

  • Perry

Amazing no foul was called before Pierce was bounced to the sideline. Q. Rich has had in for Pierce since his days in NY. Kevin just confirmed it at the presser and made a point about him talking trash as Pierce was lying on the floor. No surprise he acted like a punk. Good for Kevin. No way he should draw a suspension. The incident would have never happened if the officiating crew did its job by clearing space for Lacerte.
This was a great win and TA’s most important contribution as a Celtic.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/triompheemperor brian

    TA was awesome tonight.
Time to include him in the banner?
So will Nate and ‘Quis be left out of the roster entirely for the postseason?

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01157060540b970b Orb

    Put.
    TA.
    On.
    The Banner.
    He’s earned it.

  • prefuse

your fcking stupid … stop assuming shit, and its the facial expression by reading the situation and it clearly shows KG being stupid and assuming shyt like what ur doing right now

  • Lee in Oregon

Q Rich and Pierce have a long history together, which is a nice way of saying they hate eachothers guts. Q Rich is also a blowhard with limited skills.
It struck me in the last game but I guess it’s sunk in now- Scal has played his final game in a Celts uniform. He’s not on the playoff roster and barring injury, he’s done here. Scal was certainly a fan favorite but also a true professional. His contract may have been too high, but he was always ready when called on and never stepped outside his role. I cant imagine DA bringing back a guy who cant make the playoff roster but I would think Scal gets at least a vet min. deal somewhere.
I have to admit I’m not too excited about this years playoffs. Yes the C’s will/should get by the Heat, but Cleveland looms next, and to quote Larry Legend….”they have a better chance of seeing God….”

  • mikey

    FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mikey

    You’re a loser.
Richardson has no business going over there. None. No Business. No. No. No.
    None.

    No business.
    None.
    No.
    None.
    No
    No business.
None. NONE NONE NONE NONE NONE
Did you see how he was trying to get “through” Garnett.
Because he wanted to see if Pierce was Ok my ass that was bullshit.
Get the F outta here and take Q with you.

  • mikey

    Cleveland is garbage.
    Celtics will destroy them.
    Thank you.

    TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Just when I think I’m out…HE PULLS ME BACK IN. great defense and scoring, and by the way, when Carlos Fucking Arroyo is covering T.A can DOC please make sure he gets a shot off, he is so much bigger, stornger and faster than him wtf, he could had 22 points easily. I mean its just as likely that he’ll blow out his knee or tear his ACL in the next game as it is he’ll play good, but 4 the time being…He just locked down D-wade which nobody does. Bill & Chuck I know its hard, but u guys need 2 put him on that banner.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570792716970b Christopher

Loved the win. Loved KG and BBD defending Pierce from Q Rich coming over. Should make for an interesting second game, too. Here’s to hoping the Bulls put their act together and beat the Cavs for our second round meet.

  • NineSevenEight

Pretty clear to me that Quentin went over to instigate and KG took the bait sadly. With that said, Quentin got a lot away with a lot of pushing and shoving during that mixup without getting ejected. But I guess it’s consistent with the no call on his block in back to Pierce that sent him out of bounds and into the referee.
And I know I’ll get flack for this but, sometimes I think PP milks it too much in these situations. Yes, he got shoved more than once with no call and went down, but his legs weren’t broken. It all could have been avoided had he just gotten up and went away from the Miami bench. I only say that because two minutes later he was laughing in the huddle and KG was on his way to being ejected. Yes, KG should know his role, but why did it even get to that point if you’re going to be up and smiling two minutes later?
Whether or not KG is suspended next game is up in the air. If he his, then Q.Rich should be treated the same for instigating the whole thing. No reason Q needed to even approach KG and it was clear that he was going over to give KG a piece of his mind.
Either way, not worried if KG sits.

  • Alex

It’s nice to see that you are optimistic with the C’s, Mikey, but damn, you are drunk with the green coolaid at the moment. You should go and sleep. ;)

  • mikey

    and we never give up….
its all about having the heart of a champion.

  • Perry

    @NineSevenEight
Well in fairness to Pierce it was the same shoulder where that stinger occurred. I know some folks think he plays the drama card, but so does Lebron and he never gets called out for it.
The Miami bench may in some trouble as well. No matter what happens it’s going to be a long 3 days in Boston for the Heat. Celts took them out of the game with toughness and hustle. They only shot 44%. Pierce nailed their only 3. It’s a good sign. In the regular season they were a sub 500 club when shooting less than 45%. They won this game on defense, which must be their hallmark if they plan to move on.

  • prefuse

fuck you, no business? please, just stfu. and your fucking blinded, a man trying to do something good, and you take the negative out of it. mann stfu

  • NineSevenEight

I’m with you. Celtics fan through and through, but sometimes PP makes me scratch my head. Although, I personally make sure I call out Lebron for his dramatics any chance I get. It’s the national media that doesn’t.
Anyways, we’ll see what happens. Should be interesting.

  • prefuse

no its call being blinded, your in denial

  • Chris

Sat in the Tmobile suite with the reds army guys and had the time of my life. We were rockin and rollin in suite 533 baby. AMAZING NIGHT. THANK YOU RED’S ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • KY Celts fan

    nice try to do what?

  • Mike Munger-Return to the Rafters

IF KG gets suspended, FOR TRYING TO BREAK FREE FROM BEING GRABBED, then Stern is proving what most Celtics fans have known for a while and that is he hates us with a passion. We knocked out his precious Lebron and Kobe to win a title and he’s still pissed. Now he wants to see a Wade vs. Lebron match up because he thinks it will garner ratings. How about his dumb ass finally fires DICK Bavetta. He was the reason this whole thing started tonight by not calling a foul for PP when he was shoved by Haslem AND Q Rich.

  • Lee in Oregon

Mikey….love your enthusiasm. You are a true Celts fan! Maybe some day day you will play for them…..”ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!”
But seriously bro, stay in school. Finish junior high at the very least.
But seriously- Stern hates the C’s….anything is possible.

  • http://rangerbobfriends.blogspot.com/ Count Istvan

I half to admit that I missed much of the first half and when I saw the score late in the second quarter and for much of the 3rd I kept thinking about KWAPT’S wise words that you can’t just turn it on. But they woke up, or more like Miami melted down and got the job done.
BTW does anyone else think Tirico’s a douche?

  • http://rangerbobfriends.blogspot.com/ Count Istvan

    Half? Good Lord! H-A-V-E

You’re not kidding… love Mikey’s chutzpah, but taking a shot of realism along with whatever other shots he’s taking could prove a good idea.
I’m not certain that Stern hates the C’s as much as he loves drama. The Celtics already did their story and had the biggest turnaround in NBA history… so why allow them to continue dominance? I’m certain that Stern would love to put in his star players’ stories that will keep holding the series to 7 games and feature players in their T-Mobile and NBA Cares ads throughout the finals.
I was having a discussion with a friend tonight– I love the Celtics more than my beloved Patriots… but unfortunately prefer the NFL (refs) to than the NBA (refs), so it’s difficult to place as much respect to every game that the C’s play as the Pats.

  • Nickels

Q’s been talking shit about KG and Pierce since he played on the Knicks…so it’s no surprise he was involved, but if KG wasn’t suspended 2 years ago vs. the Hawks, he should be fine.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p0115704263ce970b Papa Irish

Did it look to anyone else that Jermaine was waiting for this night since the malace at the palace? when that altercation broke out that was the most active Jermaine’s been on the court since his indiana days, i bet he’s kicking himself tonight for only getting one shove in
and the elbow to q’s face looked bad, but by all accounts it was a unintentional act at a point where there was a lot of grabbing and shoving in a large crowd, being kicked out of the game was more than enough punishment for Garnetts action
in fact i thought jermaine o’neal running to the altercation and almost shoving big baby onto an apparently injured paul pierce was a much more serious and egregious offense
    1 down, 15 more to #18

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p011570792716970b Christopher

Considering how certain the C’s will make or break a game in a half, I think this was more of a Freudian slip.

  • KGHaTTR

Whole lot of competitive guys pushing each other and an erant elbow – Stern and Jackson should warn them all, fine QRich for his comments and tell them next time you’re out…
Good to see BBD battling hard at the end for rebounds….

  • DRJ

Seems to me the Cs shook off a lot of rust in the first 2.5 quarters… then finally woke up. There’s a pretty good chance that what we saw midway in Q3 was the SWITCH BEING FLIPPED.
Fyi, there were THREE fouls committed by the Heat just prior to the Q4 scrum that got KG ejected. Two fouls on Paul (that pretty much everybody saw on replay), and then a third foul on KG, who was hit on the elbow as he was shooting the jumper. Refs missed all that.
Refs weren’t bad through most of the game. Really… all we want is reasonable officiating. Nothing great, not even necessarily good… just reasonable, please.
What I loved about this game was that the Cs pulled out the win with an almost total reliance on their D. The offense was pretty weak, throughout. The beautiful thing about all this is that they can bring their defense to EVERY minute of EVERY game. Doesn’t matter if their shots are falling, if Ray is hot or cold… they can always play that defense and wrest games away.
And if these guys go all the way… man, there are gonna be a lot of red faces, including, btw, some who fancy themselves “fans”. How great would that be?! :)

  • mikey

nice try to make a stupid comment

  • mikey

a man trying to do something good, like instigate and talk trash to Pierce and Garnett.
    What a good guy.
    yeah right

  • mikey

    Tirico is awesome.
He doesn’t hate the Celtics and you can tell, that is why he is good.

  • Mauritz

Did you watch the first game? Cavs will win in four.

  • Mauritz

    Optimistic as ever… ;-)
But there is a lot of reason for optimism in this game, where we KILLED Miami with that ’08 defense.
If there is something that scares me, it is that it looks like we’re about to rely on TA locking down DWade to win this series. Any time you rely on TA, that’s a bit scary. He was excellent yesterday, though.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01157053529f970b zippittyay

the Paul Pierce mugging was Ed Malloy’s blown call, not Dick Bavetta’s.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f2d28d7970c BigMck

You’re welcome Chris. It was a blast.

  • Double P Reppin the B

I loved what I saw last night. I wouldn’t call it the switch being flipped, but they were finally truly playing like they cared and with some passion. That’s all defense is about, effort and will. This defense should and most likely will get stronger as the playoffs continue while they work out the kinks and get more “on a string” rotation wise. The rotations were a little slow last night still, I saw Q rich and Dorrell Wright blow past Pierce to the hoop with no backside help repeatedly so there is much room for improvement, fortunately the heat’s other players can’t really make you pay so much.
In the instance that we do, hopefully, advance to meet cleveland, that defense needs to be A LOT better and the offense needs to start clicking, but the effort is there and I’m so glad to see that

  • http://rangerbobfriends.blogspot.com/ Count Istvan

You must have watched a different game than I did.

  • mikey

no. actually the refs can win in 4.

  • mikey

no really Tirico is good. he doesn’t hate the Celtics I think he likes them.

  • Shawn-cvd

KG had some MONSTER finishes off those alley oops. While manning up could still be a problem his hops look good.
Great win. Just a relief to win that first game instead of what happened in both series last year.
The C’s had total control of the game until the last forty seconds became a circus. Q is a punk knocking into KG’s arm then STICKING HIS FINGER INTO KG’S FACE. That’s what escalated everything. I have no idea what to think about this baiting and instigating. It should be more closely reviewed by the league due to it happening during a time out.
Big Baby and TA were spectacular. This is what I’ve been talking about. Our team is so deep that contributions will come from any one on a given night. Look for Sheed to come up big one of these nights as well.
