T-Mobile Recap: Celtics toy with Bucks

The Celtics overcame a sluggish first half and beat Milwaukee tonight, 105-90.

Paul Pierce (24 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks) was nearly unstoppable in the 2nd half: 18 points, 7-9 FG.

This one got chippy in the 4th quarter. Kurt Thomas was hit with a Flagrant 1 for throwing Glen Davis to the floor. Davis bounced up and got right in Thomas' face, but no punches were thrown. Bucks coach Scott Skiles was ejected (it was the most obvious I'm-going-to-go-get-thrown-out move I've ever seen) following a smaller scrum involving Pierce and Jerry Stackhouse.

The Bucks are such a cute team. Don't you just love the way they are
trying to play "tough" and make a statement before the playoffs? Without Andrew Bogut, they have ZERO chance of beating the Celtics.

Kevin Garnett (rest) did not play. Rasheed Wallace (12 points, 7 rebounds) took his spot in the starting line-up and played well.

The Atlanta Hawks also won tonight, staying one game ahead of the Celtics with 2 games remaining.

Bill Rafferty, one of my all-time favorite college basketball analysts, worked the game alongside Mike Gorman. Does anyone know what happened to Tommy and/or Donny Marshall?

I wouldn’t say zero chance. this is a Celtics team that loves to underperform and has a history of tough first rounds.

Agree. But no matter the number… if they play the Bucks, they’re gonna beat ’em. Possibly without breaking much of a sweat. If this Celtics team ever gets it really together, with all cylinders firing… I don’t think there’s anybody that can stand in their way.

  • The Truth is Here

Went to comments section to that as well. Zero is tough, because then we look like fools if the bucks do beat us.

  • Tommy just rarely does away games anymore.
Donny has been absent from the studio for a couple games now… Tanguay said he was attending ‘personal business’.
    Raftery is great though.

Not sure what’s going on with Donny, but Tommy had a miserable cold last night and Mike mentioned that was why he wouldn’t be traveling. Tommy did the analysis in studio with Gary tonight though – and whoever keeps letting him wear those salmon color shirts needs to be fired!

  • lol I loved Nate’s three pointer at the last few seconds of the game. haha the fourth quarter was really entertaining. glad i watched this game

  • Oh right Guys I’m a little concerned about Perk… do yall think he’ll be a beast like he was last year in the playoffs? His minutes are down lately and he hadn’t been playing well. We absolutely need him to be intimidating and play tough defense inside.

  • Caterpillar from Italy

Yep, zero chances like the Nets, Knicks, Wizards, Bulls, etc..
