Celtics/Wizards Game Preview

Celtics (49-29) vs Wizards (24-54)

Game time: 7:30pm, TD Garden. TV – CSN. Radio –
WRKO (680).

Team Leaders

Bos: Pierce – 18.2                  Wizards: Andray Blatche

Bos: Perkins – 7.6
Wizards: Mike Miller – 6.4

Bos: Rondo – 9.8                    Wizards: Miller – 3.8

Who'll go off:   Ray Allen. He's averaging nearly 23 points over the last 3 games. I like his chances vs Nick Young and the Wizards D.

Who needs to be stopped:  Andray Blatche. He is averaging 21.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists in his last eight
games. Nothing a little KG trash-talking can't stop.

The C's will lose if…  They display the same effort we saw for four quarters vs NY and for three quarters vs Toronto. Despite leading the season series 3-0, the games have been close (104-102, 99-88 and 86-83). The Celtics can destroy Washington if they want to, but will they want to?

Miscellany:  Wizards guard Nick Young is averaging 22 points in his last three games. Al Thornton (hip) is questionable. With 4 games remaining, the Celtics and Hawks are tied in the 4th spot in the East with the Celtics owning the tie-breaker.

Prediction:  Celtics 105 – Wizards 97

  • what a classic KG pic!

  • Friday night at home. Be interesting to see how the bigs come out tonight.

  • I was at the game on 3/7 when the C’s won in O.T. The Wizards will be amped up tonight. I specifically remember watching Blatche walking down the tunnel w/his head down, and he was PISSED. The Wiz would like nothing better than to come back into our building tonight and get some revenge. Will be very important tonight to play interior defense and box out. If not, Blatche and MaGee will kill us down low. And obviously can’t let Miller get hot. I hope the C’s are ready tonight because Washington is coming out guns blazing. (no Arenas/Crittendon pun intended) I know these last few games may not seem important, but I think they are. Confidence has already been an issue this year, and I’d hate to see us head into the postseason on a skid..
