Celtics/Cavaliers Game Preview

Celtics (47-28) vs Cavaliers (60-16)

Game time: 1pm, TD Garden. TV – ABC. Radio –
WEEI-AM (850).

Team Leaders

Bos: Pierce – 18.2                  Cavaliers: LeBron James

Bos: Perkins – 7.6
Cavaliers: Antawn Jamison – 8.6

Bos: Rondo – 9.8                    Cavaliers: James – 8.5

Who'll go off:  Rajon Rondo. RR is averaging 12 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 steals over his last five.

Who needs to be stopped:  Since LeBron can't be stopped, I'm going with Mo Williams. He's combined for 45 points over the last two games. The Celtics cannot allow him to get open looks at the arc.

The C's will lose ifthey don't match Cleveland's hustle on the boards and for loose balls. They catch a break because the Cavs will be without Anderson Varejao (hamstring), but Cleveland still has plenty of guys willing to do the dirty work (J.J. Hickson, Leon Powe and Delonte West).

Miscellany:  Hickson is averaging 14.4 points
and 8.8 rebounds in his last five games. Ray Allen has just 25 points in the last three games. Cleveland leads the season series 2-1.

Prediction:  Celtics 96 – Cavaliers 90

Looks like Lebron is showing the Celtics’ chances of winning today in that picture. ZING!

Say the C’s pull it together and somehow miraculously get out of the first round…….does Cleveland sweep them in round 2 or do they have enough pride left to win 1 game?
    happy Easter everyone!

I know it’s off topic… VersusHD showed the Maine/Erie NBDL game on a national broadcast. At halftime they did this package about the Red Claws. It was really really cool to see what aspiring NBA players are doing and how a community (a whole state actually) has developed a passion for this team. The package was filmed in December and Bill Walker was interviewed.
Also the D League is experiencing some success of late. One in five players in the NBA are D League alums. Also this season a record 33 D League players have been called up. And now it looks like Versus will be broadcasting showcase regular season games.
So far as the game the Red Claws played valiantly suiting only eight players. They roared back from a 19 point deficit but couldn’t get closer than 4. Former Celtic try out and Current Bayhawk Michael Sweetney (aka the Rounder Mound of Rebound) carved up space down low collecting rebounds and put backs. Morris Almond had 17 points in EACH half to go along with 8 rebounds. Final score Erie 104-95.

I fucking hate this team. Don’t care that they won. That fourth was ridiculous.
