Sherrod Blakely trying to ruin our day

Via CSNNE.com:

The rumored blockbuster trade between Washington and the Boston Celtics is in fact just that – a rumor.

Multiple
league sources contacted this morning shot down the potential trade
first reported by Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Multiple league sources on Friday said the two sides have had no discussions about this trade, or any trade for that matter.

It's no secret that the Cleveland Cavaliers have coveted Jamison for quite some time.

One
league source indicated that this story was in all likelihood planted
by someone looking for the Cavs to intensify their efforts at landing
the 6-foot-9 forward. This would solidify their efforts towards an NBA
title, in addition to pleasing LeBron James who as we know, can bolt
from Cleveland this summer when he becomes a free agent.

As for Butler, the Dallas Mavericks are the team that he's most likely to be dealt to prior to the Feb. 18 trading deadline.

Wouldn't that suck if this story was "planted" by the Wizards in order to get a better offer from the Cavaliers?

Keep this in mind, Blakely is the guy who broke the Monta Ellis trade rumor which was promptly crapped on by nearly every basketball reporter in the country.

I feel like someone just told me Santa wasn’t real, kicked me in the shin and took my lunch money.

I think bakely knows what he is talking about. He is type of guy that has enough sources around the league to know what is true and what is being planted like in this situation. Some of these national writers like to throw stuff against the wall for cheap notoriety.
if you remember the exact story with the ellis rumor, he never said ainge was talking with nellie. It was clearly stated that it was two very lower level reps from each team that were discussing….the very ground level of how deals are consumated.

    It’s still alive, people :

“League source confirms Wizards, Celts engaged in trade talks. BOS interest in Jamison, Butler. Wiz in R. Allen. Other pieces being discussed”

I.e., everything is bullshit till proven otherwise.

Btw… I’m getting a weird effect on this site… once the whole page loads, the FLO TV ad spreads vertically and seems to take over the entire far right. So, for example, even clicking on the Home link gets you the FLO TV ad instead of home. The problem is there in both IE and Firefox.
    Weird stuff.

Ric Bucher is reporting on ESPN that they do have discussions but Boston would not be willing to take on that amount of salary between Butler AND Jamison. It is a very heavy bill to pay, although it would change the dynamic of the Eastern Conference

  • Lee in Oregon

Jamison is gonna be 34 this summer.
Andre Igodola is still the best option I’ve heard.

    Misinformed by the misinformed.

  • thetitleisours

There are no deals that will make any difference if KG cannot come back 90+ percent. He is the “Big Ticket” and we rest on his shoulders

  • Double P Reppin the B

Although this is the only deal out there that would allow the team to bring KG along slowly and really ready him for the playoffs. The depth would let us get away with that

    SO BigMCK is bummed right?
