Pierce says he’s good to go, Doc not so sure

Via Boston.com:

"I feel pretty good, light practice, I'm good to go
tomorrow," Pierce said. "It's a lot better than it was yesterday, so
it's improving, not quite 100 percent, but it's good enough for me to
play on. It's a matter of healing, it's a little sprain, mid-foot. It
really hurt, last couple days, but I've been getting necessary
treatment and it's getting better every day. I feel like I could have
went last game but I'm really ready to go."

But coach Doc Rivers would not commit to having Pierce in
the starting lineup after the team went through an hour-long practice
Saturday afternoon.

"I thought he looked good until we ran a couple live
plays, then he was a little hesitant," Rivers said of Pierce. "And if
he's hesitant, then I will probably sit him. We'll see tomorrow."

The status of both Marquis Daniels (left thumb surgery) and Pierce will be determined before the 2:30 p.m. tipoff.

"Marquis looked pretty good, actually, besides not knowing
any of our stuff," Rivers said. "Paul, I'm more concerned — if he's
hesitant at all, we'll pass on the game with him tomorrow. I would say
50-50 with both of them."

My gut says… both Pierce and Daniels will play.

Sunday is a new day. As a fan I want to see the Celtics play hard with some urgency and maximum effort no matter who they put out there. If you are wearing Green then you better freaking hustle. That’s what I want to see. No need to whine about how we haven’t beaten the top teams bla bla. It’s a new game and second half is approaching. Trying to turn over a new leaf and be positive. Hope it works… watch if we lose tomorrow you’ll see me back on here saying “Unplug the big 3″ LOL. Alright Go Celts!!
Colts should hoist the trophy tomorrow night. I can’t picture Manning “The Big Fundamental” Football Version of Tim Duncan losing.

I think the true barometer of this team should be measured after the all-star break. If Danny does or doesn’t make a move, when Quis and Paul (and KG for that matter) get back to some better playing ability, Doc can start adjusting the lineups to provide rest for the Big 3 and we’ll see and HOPE that this team will show some heart and desire to put a beatdown on the league. If we don’t see much in March, we won’t see much in May…or anything in June.
