Your Morning Dump… Where the sky isn’t falling, I think

morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here…
highlighting the big storyline.  Because there's nothing quite as
satisfying as a good morning dump.

Rivers even mocked the panic a bit, noting that both the Orlando and
Los Angeles games came down to the final possession, and had the
Celtics' final shots fallen, Boston could just as easily have been 3-1
after this four-game stretch.

"But we're 1-3 and the sky is falling," said Rivers, shaking his head. "It really isn't.

"This was a good team win for us. A lot of guys did a lot of good
things. Rasheed [Wallace] and Kevin did a terrific job. The second unit
held their own, and I think they got us a lead when they came out [in
the fourth quarter]. Tony [Allen]'s defense, Baby [Glen Davis] gave us energy in the second half — this was a good one for us."

Forsberg – Sky Hasn't Fallen Apparently

Sorry Doc, but it's going to take more than last night's 4th quarter performance against a truly awful team to convince me the Celtics aren't doomed for a second round playoff exit.

Pierce will undergo x-rays on Tuesday. As he told reporters after the
game, he thinks he has a pretty good feel for the situation.

“The foot is sore, so sit on it tonight, get some x-rays tomorrow, come
back, see how I feel,” he told reporters after the game. “But I think
it’s not going to be too bad. I mean, I would have known by now. I have
a really good sense of my body and usually how I feel and injuries. So
I think it’ll be alright but we’re going to go get the x-rays tomorrow.”

WEEI – Team Effort Snaps Losing Skid

My guess is that Pierce will try to play Wednesday vs Miami. The Herald's Steve Bulpett reports that KG is "dealing with a slight groin problem," along with the shin splints and knee soreness.

On Page 2, Danny's reaction to the Ray trade speculation.

“Let me just put it this way: We’re doing everything we can to win a
championship now,” Ainge said. “We’re not going to do anything that
might hurt our chances of winning. “There’s no question we need to play better, but we’re not going to panic.”

According to one opposing general manager who has spoken with the Celts
recently, “I’m pretty sure they’re going to be looking at a lot of
things in the summer, but for now Danny doesn’t want to do anything
that doesn’t make them better right away.”

Herald – Ainge Laughs Off Trade Rumors

We've seen Ray snap out of slumps before. Unless Danny is blown away by a deal that improves the team's chances this year and in the future, Ray will stay in green. I think a Nate Robinson type deal will be the move Ainge makes.

  • What is docs issue? giving excuses and praise to players who didnt even play good, and acting like its no big deal and squeaking a win out againsst the crappy wizards with all the issues they have and antawn jamison playing the worst game ive ever seen him play fixes it all…Um we have already lost as many games as we did all of 2 years ago, and more home games then all of last year, 4 more losses will equal are total from last season, and its not even all star break

  • And in the meanwhile Hudson drops 13 on the Lakers. Maybe he could have been of use in this slump.

  • Yeah, he had 13 in that game… but its not like he’s averaging 13 a game since he was cut.
He has barely played for Memphis, too. Don’t go nuts over one game.
