The Celtics treated us to yet another uninspired and unimpressive performance. Fortunately, they still managed to beat the lowly Wizards, 99-88.

The big story in the game – Paul Pierce's left foot. Pierce injured the foot during a loose ball scrum with Caron Butler in the 2nd quarter (photo). He returned after the half and played 10 minutes in the 3rd quarter, but did not make an appearance in the 4th.

Tony Allen played another solid game – 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Ray Allen bounced back with 17 points on 6-13 FG. KG finished with 19 points on 8-9 FG. Rajon Rondo had 17 points, 12 assists and 6 TOs. Sheed chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds.

Don't let the final score fool you,. This was a two point game (BOS 84-82) with 5 minutes left. Thanks to a bit of defense and some bad Wizards TOs, the Celtics closed the game on a 15-6 run.

I expected more tonight, especially coming off that bitter loss to the Lakers. I expected the Celtlics to be out for blood tonight, instead we witnessed the same ho-hum BS.

The Celtics were playing their 4th game in 5 nights… and each of those games was in a different city. They’re coming off 3 straight tough losses, but they found a way to win a tough game with their primary scorer on the bench for most of the 4th quarter.
It wasn’t pretty… but I’m not going to say this wasn’t at least SOMEWHAT impressive.

I’m tired of using the schedule as an excuse.

  • prefuse

yeahh stfu and stop making excuse. lakers is top 5? top 3? toughest schedule and look at them great

  • http://profile.typepad.com/redsarmy Red’s Army

oh come on… you’ve been watching the NBA as long as anyone…. you know that matters.
I’m sick of writing about that kinda stuff too… but let’s not discount it, either.
I’m not trying to say all our problems are solved. But if there was ANY 4th quarter where a team would wilt, it’s this one… and they didn’t. That’s a positive sign.

Wiz were playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. So you had two tired teams out there.

what are you joking? god damn your an idiot. the Lakers have had the cushiest schedule a team could possibly have in the beginning of the season. The Lakers are on a tough road trip NOW, but they got off to such a great start because they played the least road games in the entire league. They only played away from the Staples Center 4 times in their first 21 games. That is as easy as it gets. Its just begun to get harder for the Lakers.

He’s a troll-he has no common sense. Instead of watching his team play the Grizz, he’s hanging around Celtics’ sites. Typical bandwagon fan/troll behavior.

BigMck-I think the C’s do deserve a little credit for this win man. After the last few games, alot of lesser teams would’ve dialed this one in and just chalked it up as a 2nd of a back-to-back road loss. I did see some decent play and even hustle tonight. I don’t think we can be picky right now. For a team who’s last win was at home vs the Clips, I think a road-win is a road-win at this point. Now the key will be if they can build on this…

A win is a win! This game could have been worse… Pierce could have broken his ankle.

  • prefuse

im talking about overall here u dumass u guys are in the top 18 or 20 something teams far away from toughest road trip. you’ll see when the season is over and when the lakers own your season , eat your word

  • greenbeand

tonights game should have been lay-up

  • KY Celts fan

we’ve been missing a lot of those lay-ups lately though

  • Al

More good minutes from TA despite 3-9 shooting. KG shot 8-9, Rondo another good game…Funny how the team ran well in the 4th without Pierce.
Ray and Sheed were decent – all round a decent win…Jamison shot 3-17 or something so props to KG…he’s their main guy to shut down….
    Perk – where are u?????????

  • Double P Reppin the B

I thought the team played pretty well, and it was clear they made an issue of getting the ball down low to sheed and KG and it paid off. Keep going down low!! especially down the stretch of games

  • Nora

better then making excuses to whine lol

  • Nora

They also get more home games then any other team. That more then makes up for that.

  • Champ

Lakers are definitely not top 5 but have the 15th toughest schedule so far based on opponents winning percentage. Celtics are 23rd.

Come on boys…stop fighting. We won! I only got to hear the game on the radio tonight, but I liked some of what I heard.

“This was a two point game (BOS 84-82) with 5 minutes left.”
That makes me like this win better, actually. They finally closed somebody out, even if it was the Wizards.

  • Danno

Why do all the Lakers fans who come here to gloat seem to have the absolute worst grasp of the English Language in the Western Hemisphere?
Is it the proximity to Mexico, or are the :A schools really just that bad?
It’s like they hand picked their fans from the Special Olympics.

Wooo.. they beat a crappy wizards team…hip hip hoooorrraaayy…lets get all excited…rondo and tony allen played good, everyone else was the same or worse then they have been… Pierce hurt his foot, but um it actually helped us in the end of the game and is why we won, sorry paul, but there was no isolation 1 on 5 shit and we just played celtics basketball with rondo running the show..cruisin to a win

  • http://profile.typepad.com/6p01156f6a54c2970c ToTheRuins

Mmm…Antawn Jamison just simply had a bad game….ive seen him play much better against a a Prime KG…he simply played awful, not a whole lot to do with KG…
And KG was 8-9…woopty doo, they leave him wide open for jumpers and rondo finds him, hes suppose to make those shots.
I still dont care about anything he does except rebound the damn ball…still not doing that…and its lame

  • http://profile.typepad.com/the_bantam the_bantam

the 1 on 5 is the worst. every time they start to set it up I cringe.

  • http://profile.typepad.com/the_bantam the_bantam

Not the prettiest but they overcame an early deficit to hang on to the lead. Works in my books, better than a 4 game skid. Just hope PP is healthy.

  • Al

You’re a joke – anything positive about KG u take the worst line on it possible. Anything bad u jump down his throat. Whereas with Rondo – anything positive is blown up in lights – anything negative – hey it ain’t his fault!!
Obviously KG had NOTHING to do with Aj shooting 2-17 – nothing at all. And SHAME on KG for shooting 8-9!!
STUPID ME WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!
