Celtics/Hawks Game Preview

Chuck - Red's Army January 29, 2010 Uncategorized 1 Comment on Celtics/Hawks Game Preview

Celtics (29-14) at Hawks (29-15)

Game time: 7:30pm, Philips Arena, Atlanta. TV – CSN. Radio – WEEI-AM (850).

Team Leaders

Bos: Pierce – 18.7                  Hawks: Joe Johnson – 21.3

Bos: Perkins – 8.3                  Hawks: Al Horford – 9.8

Bos: Rondo – 9.6                    Hawks: Johnson – 4.8

Who'll go off:  Ray Allen. I'm sticking with the hot hand.

Who needs to be stopped:  Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford. This duo has killed the Celtics this season.

The C's will lose if…  Do I really need to get into this? We all know the Celtics need to rebound and play with defensive intensity for 48 minutes. Until that happens, there's no point over-analyzing matchups, etc.

Miscellaneous:  Hawks coach Mike Woodson made headlines recently for shaving his eyebrows. The Hawks last 4 game season series sweep of the Celtics came in 95-96. Joe Johnson and Al Horford were selected as Eastern Conference All-Star reserves. Atlanta is coming off a 105-90 loss to San Antonio Wednesday night.

Prediction:  Hawks 97 – Celtics 91

A special thanks to everyone who attended our party last night. I've posted some photos on our Facebook page.

I apologize for the lack of posts today. John is still passed out, and I've been too hungover to do anything besides breathe.

Hmmm…More of the same uninterested, uninspired basketball, I see. Ho Hum. Celtics really are making me believe that they’re JUST talkers. Talk the talk but never walk the walk. All I see is standing around, hands on hips, hanging out on the perimeter — waiting for someone ELSE to do something. Still too stuborn to take a different philosophy. Here’s hoping they “turn the switch” in the second half. Although I’m starting to believe that said switch doesn’t even exist.
