Herald Source Shoots Down Nate Rumors

Via the Boston Herald:

A league source close to both sides of
the situation shot down rumors today that the Celtics have renewed
talks with the Knicks concerning a possible trade for guard
Nate Robinson.

“Don’t waste your time,” said the source. “The Knicks are looking for quite a bit for him.”

The source said that both sides did have discussions earlier this season but that nothing came of it.

Robinson’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, denied any knowledge of these discussions. “If anyone would know, I think it would be me,” he said.

Ain't this fun? 30 minutes ago I was believing this was a done deal. Now it's dead, or shall I say, it was never alive.

In relevant news, the Pistons Ben Gordon will not play in tonight's game against the Celtics.

Dont understand why anyone would get excited about an Athletic shorter Eddie House….and how is it a done deal when we have untradable players and then a bunch of garbage? how were we gonna get him?

I don’t see any comparison between Nate Robinson and Eddie…Eddie can’t create his own shot, Nate can. If the defense is blanketing Eddie, he won’t score whereas Nate can get to the basket off the dribble. It’s not like Eddie plays a semblance of defense anyways, his lateral movement is practially nonexistent.

I agree that TTR is off base because Nate can break down a D and create and that’s very valuable, particularly with the C’s second unit.
I disagree about Eddie’s D, though. If nothing else he’s active and gives all his effort to playing good position in front of his man, which Rondo can’t even claim.
Just look at what Scal did to Josh Smith, just move your feet. Quisy doesn’t look like he’s slo-mo on D, but all he does is move his feet and not fall for pump fakes and it swallows his man up.
All this just supports the old coaching axiom that anyone can learn to play good defense because it mostly only comes down to making the choice to put forth the effort. Eddie’s no world beater, but I don’t think he deserves the disdain he gets for his D. Now if he could just find his shot, that would be much appreciated.

Plus we’d have another slam dunk champ. Gerald Green just couldn’t get it done.
