Celtics/Raptors Game Preview

Chuck - Red's Army January 2, 2010 Uncategorized 5 Comments on Celtics/Raptors Game Preview

Celtics (23-8) vs Raptors (16-17)

Game time: 7:30pm, TD Garden. TV – CSN. Radio – WEEI-AM (850).

Team Leaders

Bos: Pierce – 18.2                  Raptors: Chris Bosh – 23.8

Bos: Perkins – 7.9                  Raptors: Bosh – 11.3

Bos: Rondo – 9.6                    Raptors: Jarrett Jack – 4.6

Who'll go off: Kendrick Perkins. I'm expecting the game plan to include a healthy dose of the Beast who is matched up with the uber-soft Andrea Bargnani.

Who needs to be stopped:  Chris Bosh. The big man must be thrilled he won't have KG barking in his ear all night.

The C's will lose if…  their established players don't have big games. With the bench stretched super thin, Ray Allen, Rasheed Wallace, Perk and Eddie House all need to exceed their season averages in every statistical category for the Celtics to win.

Miscellaneous: The Raptors have won 5 straight. The Toronto Star reports that Hedu Turkoglu (knee) and Jose Calderon (hip) will not play. Reggie Evans (foot) has been out all season. The Celtics beat Toronto 116-103 at the Garden on Nov. 27.

Prediction:   Celtics 104 – Raptors 97

NO way the Celtics will win this game

  • its a little exciting to see what JR will do in his first real NBA minutes since he got drafted, he is actually going to have time to get into the flow of the game for once
not saying he’ll do well but it will at least be interesting for most every celtics fan to get their first look at him
