Enemy Chatter: “Ray Allen, I don’t like you”

Chuck - Red's Army December 15, 2009 Uncategorized 9 Comments

I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers
are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose
of 'enemy chatter' from Memphis.

For tonight, Ray Allen, I don't like you. Surely a nice guy, an amazing shooter, but tonight, I just can't like you very much.

Matthew Hoe – Three Shades of Blue

“I think we could have won that game. That just goes to show how close
we are. I think it starts to hurt more as you get better as a team.
When you miss a couple of threes that don’t go down and the shots that
I put down, you miss those, and end up losing the game. No matter who
you’re playing, it makes it hurt even more.”

Rudy Gay (ESPN Boston)

Maybe it's my Midwestern sensibilities, but if there's one thing I hate
more than the city of Boston, it's their sports teams. Don't care about
the enemy. I have nothing to say terrible about the Celtics that I
haven't already said a million times about Dancing With the Stars –
they're all fake, way past their prime, and their knees will be shot by
the end of the year anyhow.

Straight Outta Vancouver

Awww… that last line tugs at my heart.

Tough words from a guy with a name of “GAY”
    lol

Well, looks like class isn’t a part of the Grizzlies game plan.

“they’re all fake, way past their prime, and their knees will be shot by the end of the year anyhow.”
Who’s fake? Pierce is having one of the best years of his career, and Ray had a monster year last year.. hitting game winners too.
It’s funny if you look at it.. who was the 2nd worst in PER last year? http://www.wagesofwins.com/OverRatedPER0809.html

Rudy went to school in New England…why the hate?
Shot knees or not, the C’s will be playing ball in June. What will Rudy be doing?

I hate to break it to you guys, but you read it wrong. Rudy Gay didn’t say that stuff, it was some Griz Blogger. Rudy Gay said the canned athlete quote above that. Notice the link to where the quote came from is UNDER the quote.

Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but Gay didn’t say all those things. “Straight Outta Vancouver” did. All Gay said was they played well but still lost, which is true.

Those aren’t “tough” words, that is a canned athlete response from a player on a losing team that is rebuilding.

Nah, you are reading it right. I mean Rudy Gay isn’t the type of person that would say that, and if he did, it would be all over every sports news channel and website. Also would have been a big bold headline on this blog entry.

Do you really think Pierce is having one of his best seasons of his career? hes averaging like 13 pts this month…I think thats overstated almost every year….Im just not seeing how hes better this year then the past 2
