CSNNE: Nocioni Deal Highly Unlikely

Via A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com:

However, two league sources contacted Tuesday said Boston is unlikely to get involved in such a deal.

deal, according to ESPN, would sent Philadelphia's Samuel Dalembert to
Sacramento, with Brian Scalabrine, Tony Allen and Sacramento's Kenny
Thomas all going to Philadelphia while the Celtics would land Nocioni.

If it were to happen, the deal would be news to Nocioni's agent, George Bass.

"I haven't heard about a deal being done involving Andres," Bass said in a phone interview this morning.

Ok. Let's put this trade rumor to bed… for good.

I like Nocioni’s game.. but not on this team at this time.

Dont put this to bed yet, it may be still ongoing just very quietly. I would be against this trade anyway, yes a huge upgrade over scal, but the guy is due loads of money over the next 3 yrs i believe. I would not like to see this team dedicate that much money to another aging guy with his skills diminishing. Go get a younger player!!

Yep, I’d prefer some draft picks for Scal and TA.

  • Thank GOD. Noc is a hustler and def brings the defensive intensity, but he also can get real trigger-happy and start firing up lots of shots. I’m with those who would prefer moving our deadweight for some draft picks or even young talent. Young as in 27 and under…

Can someone explain why Tony Allen is still on the Celts?

because people are afraid to trade him to get a quality player like Nocioni. TA’s & Scal’s contracts are apparently too valuable. And you forget – We’re Boston. We’d rather wallow in misery and talk about the future than win anything now.
Danny should pull the trigger on this deal now. Scal is a good egg, but Nocioni is 10x the player he is, and TA is completely useless.
