The C’s have 3 MVP Candidates

RedsArmyAdmin November 6, 2009 Uncategorized 4 Comments

Ok, it's WAAAAAAAAY too early to be talking about MVP candidates.  What this post is actually about is a cool new feature on basketball-reference.com (via BDL): the MVP Award Tracker.

Right now, here's their top 10:

  1. Carmelo Anthony
  2. Chauncey Billups
  3. Paul Pierce
  4. Kobe Bryant
  5. Nene Hilario
  6. Rajon Rondo
  7. Dwyane Wade
  8. Kenyon Martin
  9. Steve Nash
  10. Kevin Garnett

Here's their disclaimer:

The NBA MVP Award Tracker
ranks candidates based on a model built using previous voting results. This
list does not represent the opinion of this site. Rather, these are the
players that the voters are likely to target.

You can get the full explanation here.

So far, the only thing I think this shows is the Celtics and the Nuggets are playing great team basketball.  But this will be an interesting thing to check in with from time to time.

Where’s Bron Bron on the list?

  • Bas Rutten Jr.

I think it’s bout time Paul wins an MVP. Pfff, maybe one of these years he’ll get some legit minutes in the All-Star game. Yeah, neither will happen. :(

  • Reality Check

The list lost all credibility because it didn’t have Kobe at #1. Nuff said!
    Reality check given!
