‘Sheed is Perfect for This Team!

Chuck - Red's Army November 3, 2009 Uncategorized 14 Comments

If you didn’t realize it during the offseason, preseason or during the first four games of the regular season, I hope you realize it know – Rasheed Wallace is a perfect fit for this Celtics team.

Here’s his line in tonight’s 105 – 74 blowout win over Philly:

24 minutes, 20 points, 7-10 FG, 6-8 3 FG, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block and 1 technical foul

For the first 8 minutes, this game was ugly. Despite getting good looks, the Celtics opened 3-14 from the field and the 76ers led this game 12-4. But the Cs ripped off a 15-5 run to close the quarter which included a Sheed three and Rondo behind-the-backboard jumper to beat the buzzer.

The Celtics stretched the lead to 8 at the half and 15 after three quarters. Despite playing poorly in stretches (Ray Allen and KG scored a combined 8 points on 3-15 FG.), they were always in command. Believe me, if Boston played their best, this could have been a 50 point win.

How’d the bench do tonight? They outscored Philly’s bench 62-25.

What stood out for me was… KG played one of the worst offensive games I’ve ever seen him play. Just about every time he touched the ball something bad happened… 5 TOs, 1-7 FG%, 1-4 FT%. A total drag on his team, offensively. The result? 31 point blowout. This team is just amazing.
    – PP is calmly playing great ball, game in game out.
    – Lester’s doing well. Looked good tonight.
    – JR looked hopeless. The 2nd coming of TA.
    – Biggest problem for the Cs now: these games are getting BORING.

the third 30+ win this season. are we running up the score? maybe a little. but this team is not only beating everyone, but sending a message to the entire league, that we will not be fucked with! take no crap, and take no prisoners!
    i love this game!

Man, the first half was so boring for some apparent reason. It went by so quickly!
Second half was a lot more exciting when the runs happened and we were just plain overkilling the 76ers. I was actually hoping the 76ers hit one more shot so their score would be 76. Imagine. lol Celtics 105 – 76 76ers haha

In other news, Orlando lost tonight against the Pistons and the Lakers are currently tied with the Thunder of all teams as I write this with.. 1:50 to go in the 4th.
It’s a great time to be a Celtic fan :)

That Rondo/Dalembert picture should be captioned: “Deliverance”. lol…These guys are steamrolling over people. It’s a ways off, but we may very well go into the game vs Orlando on 11/20 undefeated. This is going to be one hell of a season baby.

Pistons won without Tayshaun and Rip. And Orlando’s the team I was most worried about. Woah. (Ok, so Kobe has a cold and Dwight’s shoulder hurts… oh my aching heart.)

loved the bottom line lead on espn tonight
    lakers silence thunder……in overtime

Never worried about Sheed helping this team, he was the best offseason move we could make. But Shelden Williams is still impressing me, 11-7 tonight. I don’t miss Powe so much anymore. Giddens looks spastic out there, time to move him and TA and Scal for some youth. Where’s Bill Walker?

Like how Perk got triple teamed on the 3rd three, it was a good pass as well
See how Marquis nonchalantly walks back to set himself for defense after he passes to Sheed but before Sheed shoots, like Daniels expected him to make the 3

LOVE Sheed but he really needs to lay off the refs, he tends to push his luck and I give the refs credit they could of given him his second T but they didn’t. MSG to Sheed take a chill pill your up by 30 points!!! His T’s may coast him a game late in the season when we really need him.
I love the fact that Doc was able to sit his players most of the second half. Games like this is going to have a fresh well rested group at the end of the year.

No, ever since the day Sheed become a Celtic, I knew already that Celtics would become a different team from offense to defense this year. He really is a big factor for the Boston Celtics.

Anyone worried about KG? He looked terrible and hobbled few times. I was watching him closely and after what i saw i’m suprised there’s nothing in media today. Great game, our bench owns teams

  • Alex

Everyone has their bad nights, even Kevin Garnett. At least he played good defense but I was disappointed with his offensive game today.
Oh well, nothing to really worry about. We got three other All-Stars to pick up his slack. ;)
