Report: Davis Having Surgery Today

Via ESPN's Chris Sheridan:

The Celtics are now saying that Glen "Big Baby" Davis is undergoing
surgery today on his injured right thumb, which was damaged in some
sort of an altercation with one of Davis' former LSU teammates. Owner
Wyc Grousbeck says the team is considering suspending Davis.

Wow. Celtics news is flying around fast and furiously today.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an update in 30 minutes saying surgeons have made the first incision in Big Baby's thumb.

I’d like to see some news saying the Celtics have signed someone to replace him.
Big Fucking Dummy should be his new nickname.

Seriously, the guy is on top of the world. He was fortunate enough to strike Doc’s fancy, win a ring, and then shine because of injuries last post season. His success is due to this team and their ability to develop players and his career success is totally unexpected.
I like him a lot…but really stupid to pull this stuff a day before the season opener.
Between this news and the Rondo crap, the opener is totally tainted for me. As much as people like Rondo, it seems all the fans still don’t think he deserves what he is asking. Rondo should listen to us instead of his greedy agent…

I hope he does get suspended if Davis got in a fight, If it was an accident then thats a different story. I bet Sweetney will be back

This pisses me off to no end. This clown acted all summer like he was deserving of a monster contract and when he didn’t get one, he came back with his tail between his legs. He better do some soul searching and realize without the Celtics, he would be nothing at all.

Was it ever said which hand?

  • Matt

So, how long is he going to be out? For the season?

  • Alex

    His right hand (shooting hand).

I wonder how long could they suspend him? Could they do it for the whole time he is injured?
That would be a painful hit to the wallet
