The Return of Dan Dickau?

Update via the Globe:

The Celtics have offered former guard Dan Dickau a training camp invitation, according to agent Mark Bartelstein.

Dickau, who turns 31 Sept. 16, played last season in Germany, averaging 17.6 points in just five games for the Brose Baskets.

Bartelstein said his client is ready for a chance at better
fortunes in Boston. Dickau played 19 games for the Celtics in 2005-06
but tore his Achilles’ tendon Dec. 17, 2005, and eventually was
included in the deal that netted Sebastian Telfair from Portland.

Dickau could serve as a third point guard behind Rajon Rondo and
Marquis Daniels and is a favorite of general manager Danny Ainge.

Celtics considering signing veteran journeyman guard Dan Dickau, who played with Boston during the 2005-06 season.

Dan Dickau? Really? There's nobody else out there?

For those who don't remember, Dickau played 19 games for the C's back in 2005-06 averaging 12 mpg and 3 ppg. I think he suffered some type of season-ending foot injury.

One thing I do know, his wife (a former Blazers dancer) is hot. Pics after the jump.

Seems like he should be from the Pitino Era. My guess is that he’s just a camp invite. Better chance of Cs getting wilkins or barry, IMO

  • Alex

Just keep Lester Hudson or find another veteran PG… Jeez Ainge.

  • Two-Buck Chuck

    Chris Corchiani says hello.

  • Love it love it love he has never been with good team if they sign him great steal gritty and gutty with a hot wife

  • Dan has known his chick since they were kids-she was a great high-school basketball player…I personally would prefer Ty Lue or Bobby Jackson, but if DanDick has a great camp and looks solid, wtf, we’ll get him for pennies…

Get Mike Taylor or sign Hudson. Not this guy, and definitely not Tyrone Lue (don’t know if he went to Europe or not).

I heard Chris Herren is available too. Why not give all our overmatched backup PG’s a second chance? At least Herren’s a local boy.

I’d prefer Lester Hudson or Carlos Arroyo. I hope he is just a camp invite.
