Daniels: “I’ll Worry About The Money Later.”

Via Boston.com:

"Not many people get a chance to play with Ray Allen, Paul Pierce,
Kevin Garnett, and Rasheed Wallace," Daniels said at a press conference
in Waltham. "It's a good opportunity and I'll worry about the money
later. Right now we have to worry about one thing and that's winning
the championship this season."

When's the last time you heard an athlete say he'll worry about the money later? Daniels did sign a one year deal worth $1.99 million.

Dan Duggan of the Herald has more on off-season workouts:

Ainge said a large contingent of players have been working out at the
team’s practice facility. J.R. Giddens and Tony Allen were spotted this
morning, and Ainge said Rasheed Wallace, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and
others are already in town preparing for the season…

Once we get some video from the presser, we'll post it. I mean'tlink to it.

The only other time I remember hearing something similar was when Al Jefferson signed his Sota contract

  • Sounds good.

There’s a video with Marquis on Celtics.com. It’s after the presser though.

  • Where the hell is KG? i read something a week ago about him being in a BBall camp in vegas and not exactly up to speed and still cant participate in full contact…wtf is going on? Danny mentions all the other guys getting ready and being in town WWHERE IS KG, why hasnt there been any talk about him or from him about how hes coming along….Im starting to feel real nervous about him…we all know how he was suppose to come back every other game last season and never did

  • Bas Rutten Jr.

I also enjoyed hearing Ainge mention that Lester is also in town working out. I’m rooting for that guy.

Now don’t start getting us nervous!!!

I’m very excited about the addition of Marquis. He can relieve Paul, Ray and Rondo and adds a great deal of versatility. On top of that, we’ve been hoping for TA to become our go-to slasher off the bench for a while now. That’s not going to happen, but Marquis brings that to the table. He’s terrific at getting into the lane, especially off of triple-threat explosions. He’s really going to help the second unit.
The only thing I worry about with Daniels is his injury history. Since signing with Indiana in 2006, he has missed a combined 73 games in three seasons, and 28 of them came last year. In the three years prior with Dallas, he also missed 20+ games each season.
He has played in just 351 out of a possible 492 games throughout his career and has only reached the 70-game mark once (07-08). Of course, as long as he’s ready to go come playoff time, all is good. But I can’t help but hold that in the back of my head.

This is great… but if KG isn’t healthy we shouldn’t celebrate just yet
