Report: Celtics Will Open Season in Cleveland

Via the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

As of now, the Cavs are penciled in to host the Boston Celtics at The Q
on Tuesday, Oct. 27, which is expected to be the first night of the
season. Usually those games are on TNT.

Nothing like pitting the two top dogs (Sorry Orlando) in the East against one another on opening night.

The Dealer also reports the Cavs will face the Lakers on Christmas Day.

  • Am I the only one who don’t like the fast start at all?

  • This is the most meaningless game of the year. It’s a nice marquee matchup… but even if one team loses by 100, it’s pretty meaningless.

  • Cool! That’s a great match-up for Opening Night and will be exciting. I was hoping for maybe Bulls (rematch of epic playoff series) or Pistons (‘Sheed’s 1st game in green at the Palace? WOW) but next to L.A. (would never happen), Cleveland is going to be an exciting team. C’MON 10/27/09..I’m bored ova’ here…!

The Lakers playing on Christmas Day has turned into the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Clockwork.
Not looking forward to Shaq referring to himself as the Big Santa. If he is self-aware, he would refer to himself as the Big Elf.

  • Um cavs and lakers on christmas?
what a giant, giant, giant crock of epic bullshit
I would rather die then watch thoser 2 idiots play, and um, what about a finals rematch? makes sense, no? fucking stupid ass NBA

  • oh and is there an explanation to why cleveland isnt opening in orlando!?!?!?!? the nba forgets the magic made the finals? and made the cavs look like sissy, front running, poor sports idiots?
they should be opening in orlando, period

  • “Nothing like pitting the two top dogs (Sorry Orlando)”
    Lol…um Orlando owns cleveland, period
