Report: Odom Leaning Towards Heat

Via Yahoo! Sports:

Lamar Odom is leaning strongly toward accepting the Miami Heat's contract offer and leaving the Los Angeles Lakers, multiple sources with knowledge of the talks said.

Odom has not reached a final decision, the sources said, but there
is growing belief he will ultimately return to Heat unless the Lakers
improve their current offer.

“It’s close, but it’s not done,” said one source.

Lakers officials and Odom’s representatives resumed talking after a
weeklong standoff that began when Jerry Buss, the team’s owner,
withdrew a four-year, $36 million offer that guaranteed $30 million.
Sources close to Odom said that while the two sides have since talked,
Buss is now offering less than the Lakers’ previous proposal.

Odom could sign a
five-year, $34 million with the Heat that would give him the option to
become a free agent in three seasons and seek a more lucrative deal. He
also would not have to pay state income tax in Florida.

Please Lamar, come to the Eastern conference. This would be a major blow to the Lakers.

It would be a huge blow to the Lakers but somehow L.O. will work it out with L.A. There isn’t a player as versatile as he is and there isn’t any good free agents left that can replace L.O.’s production. They are just using the Heat as leverage to see if L.A. takes the bate. Who is going to blink first? What if L.A. loses L.O.? Who do you think they will go after? David Lee? BBD? Who else is out there?

Have to agree-would be shocked if he left L.A. still think he and Buss are just in a pissing contest

If I was a boston fan, I would be worried with Wade, Odom, AI, and Boozer on your back door y’all should be wishing that Odom stays with the Lakers or your one year opportunity will be shot by the New look Miami Heat

Part of being on a team that wins a championship is becoming overrated, does anyone remember this dissapearing, invisible, awkward bum in the 2008 finals? lol…this guy had a good playoffs on a stacked team, and the lakers are right, he isnt worth a penny more then they are offering him….he stays true to his name, odumb, and declines 30+ mil

you really that scared of the guy?
hint: the lakers are good because of Kobe and Pau, lamar is just along for the ride, plays good sometimes, dissapears others

I’m not worried so much as I see a Celtics team with Perk, Kg and sheed and a lakers team potentially with just pau. You really can’t even count bynum, cuz phil doesn’t play him in big games. So, yes, Odom is an upgrade over anything else they have. No odom, no finals, and that is always what I root for as a celtics fan.
