chris paul > dwayne wade in my opinion
its a team game, not 1 on 1
id also take pierce or ‘melo over dirk

  • Not that I give two craps about the Lakers, but Pau Gasol got ripped off– he deserved to be second team… the only problem is, who would he have knocked off?
According to David Berri at Wages of Win, statistically, Gasol was more important in getting the Lakers wins than Kobe:

  • Is it just me or if LeBron or Kobe played as many games as KG they would prolly still make on of these teams? I mean the man still played 60 games.
KG deserves the same treatment since hes still one of the best in the league that is a leader of a recent championship team.

Accolades in the NBA are a joke (see Gilbert Arenas making all star team). KG absolutely deserves to be up there but he splits his recognition up 3 ways, unlike LeBron who actually deserves all the recognition and Kobe who just steals it from his team.

oh and while i remember, as good as howard is overall, he is not the NBAs best defensive player. no one else on his team plays inside, so of course he can get 15 rebounds a game. and he only gets blocks on help defense – meanwhile his own man is wide open under the basket for anyone who can find the open man

  • Mooz

Garnett seems to have different teases for every teams bench, heres the one for Magic bench http://i43.tinypic.com/2mfm1km.gif

  • eww, I think chris paul is a fraud…dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, pass to someone to shoot as the clock runs down, or pick n roll. hes predictable, and hes not even in wades class, and its an epic joke chris paul made the 1st team all defense, he isnt a defender at all, he gets steals. wade absolutely deserves it, and team game? i believe he averages 7 assists for a shooting guard
Id take pierce over dirk, no brainer

  • you can tell that just from watching the lakers. ive been saying it all along, pau gasol is there mvp

  • No, KG does not deserve to be on an all-nba team this season whatsoever…. 15/7, injured most of the year, quite frankly he wasnt all that great this season.

  • is that not the same thing he did in the bulls series? pretty sure it is? I dont find it cool or funny to be honest….theres absolutely no reason to taunt the magic or opposing bench, especially when you arent even playing

  • I think that Billups should be ahead of Paul based on this year. Easily.
Also, Pierce, Dirk, and Melo are pretty much interchangeable on these three lists.
No way Dwight should be on the first team over Yao.
But yeah, the biggest thing to me is Billups has to be on the second team instead of Paul.

wow are u serious? oh yeah your one of those celtic fans with their head stuck up their ass…

  • As well as KG played for the first 1/3 of the season, no way he deserves a spot. Who’s spot would he take? There are plenty of deserving players, but you can’t take anyone out that’s already in there– those guys were legit. Melo is the only guy that I think could be taken out, but he had such a solid season and played for the entire season. KGs play right before getting injured wasn’t great either– another sign that the knee thing was bothering him for a while.

  • I think Dirk is ok where he is– he has made such a recovery from last season and been the only reason the Mavs made it to the WC semis. I’m actually pretty happy with the voting broke down this year.

guess i shoulda explained a little more
KG does not deserve to be on any all-nba team this year because of the injury. i meant more of in an overall sense, he is on the nba first team.
also, if it was a “5 best players in the NBA” team, wade is fine. but there is no point guard on that team, and PG and SG are VERY different positions

  • Joe Laker Fan

Gasol should’ve made the second team, but I’m admittedly biased.
The Cavs (a.k.a., the Flavor Of The Week) are going to have their hands full with BOS. Everyone’s on their bandwagon after beating a losing team (DET) and a team that wouldn’t make the playoffs in the west (ATL).
I don’t mean to be inflammatory, but no one’s gonna get over the purple and gold wall. Yeah, it’s cute how HOU won two games and all, but LA plays UP to the level of competition. And LA shreds on the road.
    Go C’s (for now).

  • Shawn-cvd

I’d love to see the 2nd team play the 1st team. It’s also interesting that the 3rd team has two PG’s and the 1st team is overloading on the SG’s.
Paul moves to 1st team, Billups to 2nd. That means Wade moves to 2nd team SG and Roy to 3rd.

  • DRJ

Not only will the Lakers not beat Cleveland, they might not even beat Denver, which has better D, a better PG, and more fire in the belly.

Paul Pierce is is no way, shape or form better than Kobe Bryant. Kobe’s all NBA 1st team and Pierce is not. It’s time for us Suckdic fans to admit this and chant MVP, MVP, MVP for Kobe the next time he plays at the gawwden (sorry my stupid Bostonian accent got in the way).
