Lakers fans expect Andrew Bynum to be the difference between celebrating a championship and suffering through another heart-wrenching, groin-stomping loss to the Celtics in the Finals. Maybe they should lower their expectations a bit, especially since Bynum isn't good enough to play in crunch time…of regular season games.

"I don't understand why I'm not in at the end of games," Bynum said. "It doesn't make much sense to me, but it's something I have to deal with. I haven't been in foul trouble the last couple games. So I have no idea."

Hey Andrew – your coach has the answer:

"When he shows the ability to play defense appropriately he'll probably be there," Jackson said.

This is the second time Bynum has publically challenged Phil Jackson regarding his minutes. What can you expect from a young guy with Kobe Bryant as a mentor?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I told you he cant play D he is a offensively talented player but has never even come close to playing anything close to what is considered defense

  • Breana

Completely agree with Phil. Its hard to crack the end of game rotation with the laker commitment to lockdown defense and with clutch defenders Gasol and Odom on the team. Oh wait

Lakers have a lot of turmoil on their team. They should worry about their play instead of watching the Celtics. Since obviously they were not smart enough to learn from the Celtics. Defense is not something you abandon after 15 games like the Lakers have.

    Uhhh….lots of date rape charges?

Forget the Lakers. Celtics-Cavs in the Eastern Conference Finals is going to be the “real Finals.” That’s the true battle of the 2 most elite teams.
This is like when LA would play the Kings a couple years ago in the Western Finals and then have a layup against a crappy Nets team from the East.
LA are pretenders. LeBron is the only true concern for the Cs.
