Tuesday Night Is Your Night

RedsArmyAdmin September 9, 2008 Uncategorized 8 Comments

NBA TV is going to air 96 games this year.  Starting November 4, it will air a game every Tuesday night… that you choose.

Ahhh…. but before we sit here and decide to put the Celtics on national TV every Tuesday night…. there is a catch.

Each team can only appear on the network nine times, so when the quota is used, certain Tuesday games may be struck from the ballot. Also, games will be blacked out in local markets, so it would not make sense for a Cleveland fan to vote for his or her team's game. However, it allows him or her to vote for a game involving a popular team they would like to see.

Oh…. the possibilities are endless.

What's that… a HUGE Lakers-Hornets game on Tuesday night?  Let's all vote for it so the folks in LA can't watch it.  This is power that will DEFINITELY get abused by the blogosphere.  Hell… I'm looking FORWARD to abusing it.  What good is power if you can't manipulate it to suit your every whim?

Remember that composite ball that everyone hated?  It's dead… and it ain't coming back.  And didn't we know this about Kobe Bryant getting pinkie surgery

Hey… this just in… the Celtics are champs.  I figured if we're regurgitating news… it might as well be news that we like.

Your plan to sabotage the Laker fans would actually backfire because fans in the LA area don’t need NBA TV to catch a game–it’ll just be on their version of CSN-NE; LA fans out of the area would benefit.
So in summary, I say help the Celtics fans out of the New England TV market and always vote for the good guys.

Kobe’s pinkie is a ridiculous story that has been going on for like 6 months. Talk about fakign an injury for attention. And they accused Pierce of making a big deal out of his knee… for half a game… in the NBA Finals?!
Kobe is ridiculous with his need for attention.

I was going to say what Mike said. DONT vote for Laker games…. I don’t want to see Kobe whine all the time.

I don’t think that’s accurate. I used to live in LA and I don’t believe they have their own version of CSN-NE. The Laker games are sometimes on Fox Sports (Channel 98343023ARW32235259TZ), sometimes on KCAL-9, sometimes on KTLA (Channel 5) and sometimes not on TV altogether. But they are on TV way more than the Clippers whose games are damn near impossible to catch on TV. And whenever they travel out east, the games are on a ONE HOUR TAPE DELAY. One time I got home late, turned the TV on to catch the Celtics manhandle the Flakers during the second half in Boston, turned my computer on and learned the game was already over while I was watching the third quarter play out.
And you wonder why LA doesn’t even have a football team. They don’t deserve one. Did you see how “stoned” the fans were during the Finals? Half of those people get to games an hour late and leave after 3 quarters.
    NO PRIDE IN LA. None.
The bottom line is that the Lakers suck really bad but their fans are even worse if you can believe it.

Why fix it if it ain’t broke? Goddamn that ball story pisses me off. I been around for 25 years and all I’ve ever known is an eight-paneled leather ball at the highest level (me, I had the rubber shit in the driveway). A two-paneled ball is going to look retardiculous.

Just to let you know, if you were to vote the Lakers to play on NBA TV that doesn’t mean that Laker fans won’t be able to see it. It means it will be blacked out on NBA TV, but still showing on the local channel. The whole point of a blackout is so that people watch on the local channel instead of NBA TV.
