Arrivederci, Kobe

RedsArmyAdmin August 8, 2008 Uncategorized 11 Comments

Our favorite fraud, Kobe Bryant, now says he's open to playing in Europe – specifically Italy.

“I’d go. I’d probably go,” said Bryant, during a USA Basketball press conference on Friday morning. “Like Milan or something like that, where I grew up or something like that… Peace out.”
Bryant continued: “Do you know any reasonable person that would turn down 50 (million dollars)?”

Kobe's finally realizing that his Lakers are never going to beat the Celtics, so the next best thing is to take the money and run.

If I were an NBA player I’d definitely take that money!! Not only are you and your kids set for life, your grandkids probably are too!
But if he does go do you think we’ll see another Shaq rap about Kobe running away? hahaha

  • Dave

    Nice one.
Kobe is so bizzare in these interviews. He’s a strange dude.
Hopefully he doesn’t miss any “bunnies” now that he’s playing for Team USA

    What dumbass runs these posts?
“Kobe’s finally realizing that his Lakers are never going to beat the Celtics, so the next best thing is to take the money and run.”
Even if the Lakers could beat the Celtics, which with the addition of Bynum next year they probably will, Kobe would still take the 50 mil and run. Anyone in their right mind would! Who cares about a championship…its 50 MIL!

It’s nice to see most Celtic fans on here actually have some sense and think he should take it if he had the chance. That’s something I don’t think I’ll ever be able to say about Laker fans, they’d say KG or Pierce or whoever is too afraid and know the Lakers are gonna dominate.
That’d be crazy tho if him and Lebron both got $50 mil a year, and both left. Stern would be done.
They need to get rid of the salary cap and keep the luxury tax. Let teams spend freely on free agents, just know that they’ll have to pay extra once they go over the luxury tax. That way they can compete with European teams.

If they did that, Stern wouldn’t be able to steal teams from viable markets like Seattle and place them in Oklahoma City.

What does Stern have to do with the move? That’s all the owners. And the OKC market is booming, and in my opinion will be one of the better markets within 10 years, certainly better than Seattle.

Seattle was railroaded out of their team and Stern let it happen. OKC might be fine for basketball… but those new owners lied about their intentions when they bought the team… Stern knew it… and did nothing.

  • Lakerhater

Stern most certainly was complacent at the very least. OKC should have gotten and expansion team if they are so great. I can’t believe I’m actually saying this but Mark Cuban was right, OKC is a second teir market on a good day, this only cannibalizes the Mavericks fan base. Don’t worry Mark, they won’t be gone long.
The Sooners and Picken’s kids suck, they needed a pro franchise to divert the shame.
